Laying on my bed, I blasted music through my ear buds, trying to fall asleep. It was 8 o'clock, and my day had already been too long. With my mom working night shifts, she shouldn't be here until 3 am. My night light was the only thing on.
I felt vibrations coming from downstairs, then my dog quickly jumped off my bad and scratched the door, eager to get out. I lazily pushes the covers off of me, exposing myself in and over sized, which belonged to Cesar, and my short running shorts. Looking at myself in the mirror made me cry even more. Why I wore his shirt, even though I was furious with him, I don't know.
Grabbing my phone from my nightstand, I turned on the flash light and went down stairs cautiously. The kitchen light was turned on. I quickly went to the dial pad and typed 9-1-1, with my thumb over the "call" button, I peeled into the kitchen.
"Y/n!" A voice says. "It's just me!"
"Cesar?! What the hell are you doing in my house?" I shout angrily putting my phone in my pocket.
"You gave me a key, remember?" He says smiling. I just stare at him from the door way. He takes a step closer to me and I take a step back.
"I think you need to leave." I tell him, my voice cracking, which I hate. It makes me sound weaker than I actually am.
"Y/n, I never meant to hurt you. I-I," He can't seem to finish. "I love you, and only you. Not Monse, you!" He says stepping closer.
"Stop. Just, stop!" I say yelling at him. I was clearly angry and I wanted to be alone. "Don't say you love me, when your fooling around with another girl. I gave you my whole heart and you only have me part of yours!"
"That's not true and you know it! You know I loved you." He defends himself.
"Stop it! Everyone knows, even you know. This whole time I thought there was something wrong with me, but it was you! You made me feel like I was doing something wrong! You mad me rethink our whole relationship , and I hate you for that!"
"I'm sorry! I love-"
"Quit throwing that word around! You don't "love" me! You don't even know what that word truly means!" I yell, tears on my cheeks.
"Yes I do!" He tells me. Now we're both crying.
"Just go." I tell home walking to the door, him following me. "And if I can have my key back." I say putting my hand out. He puts the key in my hand, as our hands touch for that brief second, I chose back a sob and quickly put it in my pocket. Opening the door for him, he runs his eyes.
"I really did love you, y/n." He tells me, now outside door.
"I bet you did, and do did Monse, but apparently not enough." I explain closing the door.
"Y/n-" he starts, but I shut he door before he could finish. Locking it and turning off the porch lights, I walked upstairs, taking off my shirt. I put on my old tie-dye shirt and get under the covers.
That was probably the worst night of my life. Just then I got a call, answering I cried, "go away! I don't want to talk Cesar!"
"It's just me!" Ruby say through the other line.
"Oh. You probably think I stupid." I say fake laughing.
"No, not at all! In fact, I think the only stupid ones here, are Monse and Cesar. Forget about them okay, that don't deserve you as a friend."
"Thanks." I mumble into the phone.
"I was just calling to say good night, and that, thing will get better."
"Can you come over?" I ask him, hopefully.
"I can try."

He came over 30 minutes later. I felt bad, he had to sneak out because everyone was asleep. But when he did, I told him the whole story on the couch, making him watch Dirty Dancing. I cried almost every time time Baby and Johnny kissed or danced with each other.
I was glad to have him as friend. Having someone there for me was different. Most times I was upset, my mom would usually be working or with her friends. This time, I had Ruby, and it was an amazing feeling.
