How can I not love you? (Student/Teacher)

Thirteen

I woke up to the smell of pancakes. I stepped out of bed and walked downstairs, still in Daniel's sweater. "Goodmorning Josephine." I heard from behin as two arms were wrapped around me. "Goodmorning. I see you've made some breakfast." I pointed at the table that was all set with pancakes, orange juice, fruits, eggs and tea.

"A special lady deserves a special breakfast."

I grinned. "Well that's very sweet of you." I looked at the clock, 7.15AM which meant I had to leave for school within an hour and I didn't bring any clothes here. I sat down on the chair and started on my pancakes. "I do have to go home and change after this. I look like crap." I laughed.

"You don't look like crap Josephine. That sweater looks very sexy on you." He smirked. I blushed and continued eating my delicious pancakes.

I walked into my house hoping my mom wouldn't be home. Luckily I found out she wasn't but my dad was. "Hello Josephine, where do you come from?" He asks when I try to sneak upstairs.

"Uh, I stayed over at a friends house but didn't bring clean clothes so I wanted to change here."

"A friend? A guy?"

"No, I stayed with Demi. Now can you please excuse me I have to change."

I ran upstairs and locked my door when I was in my room. I stepped into the shower that was connected to my room and cleaned myself.

I decided to wear a blue navy skirt with a white t-shirt and black boots. I did my hair into a tight ponytail and put some make up on. I saw it was 8AM and I had 15 minutes left to go to school. I didn't feel like going with the bike so I texted Demi if she could pick me up, as she was the one with a car.

Me:
Hey can you pick me up? Don't feel like going with the bike.

Demi:
Yeah ofcourse, I'll be there in 10.

Me:
If my dad asks, I stayed at your house tonight. X

She didn't respond to that. After 10 minutes I heard honking outside and ran downstairs. Trying not to trip over my own feet, but as I aspected my dad was already outside talking to Demi.

"So you're the Demi that Josephine stayed at last night?"

Luckily she covered for me and nodded yes "The one and only".
"Jeez dad let it go, why don't you trust me when I say something." I stepped into the car and we drove of.

"You do owe me an explanation you know. I'm happy to cover for you cause that's what friends do but I wanna know why, please." She said

I didn't think of an explanation to tell her. I obviously couldn't tell her I was with Daniel.

"I ran into a guy last night and I went home with him."

"Ooeehh I didn't think you were like that."

"Like what?" I asked curious

"Well you know, just living your life. I thought you were more of a rules person. No sex on first dates and all that. Guess I was wrong."

I laughed. "Nah I changed."

We drove into the parking lot at school and stepped out. "Hi girls!" We heard from behind us and saw it was Suzanne. Demi rolled her eyes at me. "Hi Suzanne, what's wrong?"

"Nothing I just thought we could hang out."

"No sorry, we have to go." Demi shot back at her and walked of dragging me behind her.

"What was that for?" I asked. I thought Suzanne was their friend.

"You know, she's nice but very weird. I feel like she's stalking me and it's getting on my nerves. Besides she's not like us, she's just handy when we need her. Her parents have a lot of power in this community and she is very smart."

I didn't respond to it. I knew it was wrong what they did but I sure as hell didn't want them to ditch me too so I stayed silent.

We walked over to the table the rest of the group was sitting at. I sat down next to Brandon who put his arm around me. "How is my favourite Josephine doing today?"

"You know more than one?" I asked dodging the question

"Nope, that's why you are my favourite, you're unique." He said tapping on my nose like I was some child.

"Oh please, stop it already." I said slamming his arm off me.

The bell rang and we walked to class. I had to wait 2 periods and a break until I saw Daniel again and I was already looking forward to it.

I survived English and Chemistry and was now walking with Thalia to our table outside. "Is everything okay with Wesley?" I asked her

"Yeah I think so, he wished I had told him about my brother but he understands."

I smiled. "Good to know, you guys are made for each other."

We arrived at the table and I sat down next to Rylee. "So I heard you've been staying over at a guys house last night. Tell me everything." She said
I laughed "It's not that big of a deal. I uh ran into him at the gym and we had a nice time, that's all."

"You were with a guy last night?" Brandon interrupts.

"Yeah I was, can we stop talking about this? It's not that big of a deal." I replied getting annoyed. This was really getting on my nerves already.

They let it go and we just talked about random stuff until the bell rang.
