eddie and stanley walked in a content silence the whole way back to stanley's home. they exchanged glances, shortly followed by soft grins.

finally, eddie gasped when an idea popped into his head, and the taller boy looked at him in confusion, "stan! we should have a sleepover at your house! we can invite everyone over and watch movies or something!" he said, every word filling the air with an almost child-like happiness, hoping that stanley would agree.

truthfully, stanley didn't really feel like seeing everyone that night; but after seeing the toothy smile that eddie had plastered on his face, he couldn't help but agree. as soon as they entered the house stanley confirmed the plans with his parents, and the boys began making phone calls. they called each of their friends, calling their plan an "emergency movie night".

all of them would be able to make it, besides ben and beverly who were currently staying at ben's house.

one by one, they began to pour through the door. first bill, then mike, and lastly..
richie.

richie entered the room with a sloppy smile slapped on his face, his eyes looked almost.. glazed over?

"hey rich-" eddie said, but before he could even finish, he was scooped off of the ground and into the air.

"oh my, my, my, look at this cutie! look at you! guys, guys," richie paused before letting a giggle drift out of his mouth, "look at this cute lil' spaghetti!"

eddies face flushed, not knowing what to say or do, he just dangled off the ground in richie's thin arms.

bill laughed, "s-suh-someone had a few too man-many brownies b-before he came over, huh stanny?" he rested his head on the tall boy's shoulder, and stanley's face flushed just as dark as eddies did.

"brownies?.." eddie said as he was gently set back on the ground.

richie let out another smooth giggle and smacked a wet kiss on the tiny boy's cheek, "you never hadda brownie before, ed's? i think you'd like 'em!"

it took a few minutes before eddie finally understood what they were talking about.
richie had eaten half a tray of weed brownies prior to coming to stanley's house. eddie audibly gasped and
looked up at the boy that was currently leaning against him, "richard tozier! are you high?"

richie put on his stupid announcer voice, which was a rare occurrence since eddie thought it was so stupid, and pointed at him, "ding ding ding!! the boy has solved it! i am, indeed, high on marijuana!" he quickly turned to bill, "please, sir, tell the boy what he's won!.. that's right! a fat hug from the one and only, the legendary, rrrrrichard tozier !"

richie leaned in once again and squeezed eddie in his arms, twirling and laughing at the boy squirming around. "richie!" he yelped, "richie, put me down right now!"

technically, richie did listen. he set eddie back on his feet and steadied the boy. but immediately following this, richie cupped edward's cheeks and kissed him on the lips.

in front of stan.
and bill.
and for god's sake, in front of mike!

eddie knew he had to pull away.
he knew and in his head he shouted, get this idiot off of you! get him off!

but, he didn't.
and not one of the boys there were surprised. they had seen it coming for a long time.

especially mike.
