When Keith was thrown out of the pod, he was caught by two, big arms. One human, one metal. Very familiar arms. He looked up up to see Shiro's worried expression gazing down at him, which made Keith look away. He looked to his hands and saw blood on them, reminding him of... that, that terrible night. He got pretty panicked, but luckily Shiro was there to calm him down. Shiro was the one who could calm him down better than anyone else, and it was the same the other way around. Soon, he had the whole team surrounding him, asking if he was okay. Hunk being the one to voice his concern the most. But Shiro actually shushed them, once he could see Keith starting to get overwhelmed. "Shh, let him rest. The healing pod let him out, so he's okay. He'll be even better if he gets some sleep." And with that, Shiro lifted Keith up (He could lift anyone on the team when he wanted to) and carried him to his room, where he tucked Keith in and sent him to sleep. But as Keith started to drift off, he could have sworn he saw something. A flash of yellow in Shiro's eyes. Maybe he was tired and hallucinating, but he didn't have much time to think before falling asleep.
Once Shiro had put Keith to bed, it was time for him to try and relax himself. He hadn't slept for a long while due his constant nightmares. Most being from his time with the galra, but he was starting to have other dreams too. Of his parents dying and him being dressed in a galra uniform. He found it strange, but it still scared him. He would often overthink every small detail and keep himself awake by doing so. It was hopeless. He was hopeless, especially when he was too tired to do a good job of leading. If he told the others though, he'd probably just be ignored. They'd tell him it was nonsense and that he was fine, but he really wasn't. Though he ignored that. He found himself staring at the stars out of a glass window, when Allura approached him from behind. He wasn't one to easily get jump scared, but when Allura's voice rang out behind him, he was a little more than startled. He jumped so much, in fact, that he nearly headbutted the window he was looking out of. So much for relaxing, he thought to himself as he spun around to see Allura standing there, arms folded neatly across her chest. She raised an eyebrow at him ,waiting for an answer to a question he didn't hear. He just stared at her eyes, and oh god were they pretty. She cleared her throat, which jolted Shiro back to his thoughts. "Hm? Sorry, I didn't hear what you said."
Allura sighed and put a hand to her forehead gently. "Mmmhm. I said, what are you doing here all alone? You're just staring into outer space... literally. Is something wrong?"
"No, I'm just trying to relax is all. Nothing is wrong." He replied quickly.
"Are you sure Shiro?"
"I'm sure, princess."
Shiro expected her to just give that leader like nod of hers and walk away, but she instead walked and stood next to Shiro. "Then I think I might join you, if you wouldn't mind awfully."
Shiro beamed at her and smiled, then started to gaze at the stars again. "I wouldn't mind at all, princess."//A/N: Sorry for the short chapter and how long it took to write. I was thinking about doing another book that focuses on some different ships, because I'm just like this. If you think I should do that, drop some of your favourite rarer ship names and I'll get writing! Thanks :)//
