Chapter 3: Zeffra

I could tell from the look on my brother's face, that he was both shocked and scared. Why wouldn't he be?

Growing up I had always been the smarter and more reasonable one, so when I asked him to join a rebellion that was totally against our parents' beliefs I knew it wasn't going to be a straight yes. At least not right away...

Originally I had been planning on going to Arizona on my own, but after I had heard about how Tallen's date went....well he needed me to keep him stable.

We sat there at the small circular table in silence. He had to say yes; Truyouth, money, and attractive women couldn't be the answer to everything.

"Well....?" I had to know whether or not he was coming, ASAP.

"Well what? I don't know Zeffra!" Tallen dropped his head I'm his hands, looking utterly exhausted.

"Listen Tallen, I know it's confusing and scary but...you don't see the big picture. Ever since scientists started using Truyouth to get money, our planet has been getting more an more polluted as well as over populated, sooner or later we are going to be living space! Don't you want to prevent that?"

Tallen slowly lifted his head. I think he was finally getting it.

"You could be the hero Tallen. You just have to come with me." He needed me and I needed him, I figured calling him a hero would be a good way to persuade him.

Tallen mumbled a curse under his breathe and finally said, "Ok fine! But We're not leaving today, just give me until tomorrow to pack my things."

"Oh thank you Tallen! I'm so glad you- umm cool thanks....see you tomorrow." I gave him a small grin that started to grow as he got up. I had finally persuaded him. Now we just had to find a way into Arizona, find the rebellion camp, and explain to my parents why we were both leaving unexpectedly. Piece of cake...
