McKayla's POV:
It was Wednesday, it was already a bad day like everyday of this week already. Today, was the day Peyton had her surgery, but on top of that Ryan was leaving to go to Atlanta.
Ryan and I had just come back from signing papers for her surgery. Before the nurse came in, we explained to her again what was going to happen. There was a loud knock on the door before the door slid open. A couple of nurses walked in, Peyton shot a look towards Ryan and I. She was scared, with that look in her eyes, it was obvious.
"Alright sweetie. We're gonna take you now and you'll be back before you know it." One of the nurses says.
"Everything is alright sweetheart. I love you." I smiled down at Peyton.
"I love you too mom." She replies. "Bye dad, good luck this weekend."
"Gonna win just for you darling." Ryan smiles, kissing her forehead. "I'm always with you. I'll see you Sunday night." He smiles down at her. They roll her out of the room, as Ryan began to gather his things.
"I love you sweetheart, call me if anything happens," Ryan says, pulling me into his embrace. I wrap my arms around him tightly. I didn't want him to leave, I was clueless about how I was going to handle the next couple of days without him.
"I love you too."
"I'll have a driver on call if anything serious happens." He promises. I nod and unwrapped my arms.
"Call me when you land?"
"I will sweetheart."
||2 Hours Later||
The door slides open, cutting off my mom and I's conversation. Two nurses push Peyton's bed through the door putting it back in its place.
"She did awesome. Surgery couldn't have gone better. Dr. Hans and Johnson will be in shortly." One of them comments.
"Thank you," I replied. I walked over to Peyton's side although she was still unconscious. I stroked her hair, which sooner or later would be gone once again.
"Honey, Ryan is calling you." My Mom says, handing my phone off to me.
"Hi sweetheart." I greeted.
"Hi sweetheart, I just wanted to let you know that Chase and I just landed. How is Peyton doing?"
"She just got out of surgery," I replied. "Also before I forget, Lennox is brining the twins down to the track Friday after they get out of the school."
"Sounds good, it's too quiet here. Is Briella staying with you?"
"Yeah, your mom offered to take care of her when I needed," I replied. I hear Chase's voice in the background, telling Ryan they needed to get going to practice.
"Alright, I gotta go. I'll talk to you later. I love you sweetheart."
"Okay, I love you too," I tell him before hanging up. I take a deep breath as Peyton began to stir awake. "Hi sweetie." I smiled, as she opened her eyes.
"Hi mommy, hi grandma."
"Hello darling, how are you feeling?" Mom asks.
"It hurts." She whimpers.
"Doctor should be here any minute," I reassured her. The door slides open and Dr. Hans and Johnson walked in with a smile.
"Hey champ, how are we feeling?" He asks, wheeling a chair over to her bedside.
"It hurts." She replies.
"You're gonna be in some discomfort for a couple of days, but we'll give you medicine to help that." He says. "Mrs. Blaney, the surgery went really well, no complications. We're going to keep her for a couple of days. If she is good, we'll send her home, and she'll just regularly come in for her treatments. The tumor she had wasn't nearly as bad as her last, so I don't see the need keeping her for months like we did last time."
"Okay, what treatments will she be getting?"
"Mostly likely chemo, and if that doesn't work we'll mix in radiation." He replies. "I personally think just the chemo will do for now."
Ryan's POV:
"Great job Ryan, second fastest in practice." Jeremy applauds. I give him a thumbs-up and looked out of the garage to see a familiar face. Haleigh? What is she doing here?
{A/N: if ya'll don't remember Haleigh she was one of his exes that thought she was pregnant with his baby while he was engaged to McKayla}
I set my helmet in the car, along with my gloves, and walked over to her.
"Haleigh?" I asked. The lady turns around.
"Ryan, it's nice to see you again." She smiles.
"What are you doing here?"
"Oh, I was actually just looking for you, but I guess I don't need to look anymore." She says. "I would like to introduce you to someone. Ryan, this is Jason, your son."
"My what?"
"Your son? Remember when I came-"
"Woah slow down. Yes but, I remember really clearly that the paternity test said I wasn't the father." I raise my voice. "If you are here to just to mess up my life again, it's not going to work. I have a wife and four kids, nothing is going to get in between. So, if you would likely leave-"
"What's going on here?" A voice asks. I turn my head and see the one person I never wanted to see again.
"Well, well, well, Ryan Blaney." Joshua, McKayla's old ex says. "How's McKayla and the family doing? I hope you haven't screwed anything up yet. I mean, let's be honest McKayla and I-"
"Man, you just don't know how to shut up," Chase says, walking up beside me. "If you think about seeing my sister again, well you better think again bud. She will never go back to you, and if you have a problem with that, then we have a problem here."
"She left you for a reason," I added
"Yeah, but who was there to comfort her and take care of her when you were abusing her on a daily basis," Joshua says.
"Fuck you, man. If you come anywhere near her or my family, I swear to god I'll make you regret it." I looked at him dead in the eyes. Chase motions over security, and they take them away.
"Who was that girl Ryan?" Chase asks.
