McKayla's POV:

I woke up early the next morning for my doctor's appointment. I fell asleep last night before Ryan got home, if he even came home. I get ready before checking to see if Ryan even came home last night after our fight last night.

After getting dressed and quietly went to check in the guest bedroom. I peaked through the door crack and spot him still sleeping. I knew we were eventually gonna have talk about the situation, but I honestly couldn't look him in the face right now. On the way home, I called my mom and told her to keep the kids at her house for the night. I didn't want them to feel uncomfortable, they've never seen us in an argument or a fight.

I grabbed my phone, keys, and wallet and headed out. I drive over to Chase's house to pick him up. He offered to come with me to my appointment and grab breakfast afterward, mostly because he wants to know what went down last night.

To Chase: Here when you're ready

From Chase: k be out in a minute

My phone buzzes again, this time it was Ryan.

From Blaney: thinking about you. hope your appointment goes well.

I take a deep breath and ignored the text. As much as I wanted to answer I just couldn't convince myself. I was still hurt and confused about last night's events. I didn't know what to believe or who to believe.

"Hey there." Chase smiles hopping in.

"Hey." I smiled backing out of the driveway. "Thanks for coming with me today," I added.

"No problem, anything for my big lil sis."

||Breakfast||

My 5-month check-up went pretty well. I didn't find out the gender yet, I know I would feel guilty finding out without Ryan being there. The baby was perfectly healthy, but pretty soon I'll have to stop traveling.

"You wanna explain what's gonna on between you and Ryan?" Chase asks setting down his glass of water.

"Last night we got stopped by some lady named Haleigh. Which apparently she's his ex, and she claims her son is Ryan's. To make matters worse Joshua showed up too."

"Again?"

"What do you mean again?"

"He showed up a couple of weeks ago with that Haleigh chick. I caught them interrogating Ryan, he seemed pretty heated and from what you just told me it all makes sense." Chase sighs. "Have you spoken to him?"

"No, I'm not ready to face him. I'm still processing all of it, I don't know who to believe."

"You-"

"Chase, I know what you're going to say. I should believe Ryan versus a woman I have never met. But we all know Ryan's past, he could've easily slipped all those years back."

"Okay you got a point, but still. Has he taken a test?"

"He said he has, but I doubt he still has the papers for it. He probably threw them away right away so I wouldn't see them."

||Whit and Kay's Shop||

"Hey, I thought you weren't working today?" Whit asks. I haven't told Whitney about what had happened at the track or between Ryan and I. I didn't want her getting dragged into this.

"Had some free time, though I would stop by and help," I replied. "I have to go to the back. I'll be back." I say walking to the back. I sit down and went through new arrivals, my mind wandering off about the situation at hand.

"McKayla?" I hear faintly. "McKayla?" Someone says snapping their fingers. I let out and a deep breath, coming back into reality. I looked up and see Emma (Turner) standing in front of me. "What happened?" She questioned pulling up a seat next to me.

"Ryan's stupid ex."

"Haleigh? Where is she?"

"Yeah, Haleigh. She was with Joshua."

"Wait, Joshua? As in your ex?"

"Yeah." My voice trails off. My mind quickly flashes back to times Joshua and I were together. All the horrible things he did to me, but I just kept going back to him.

"Where are they?"

"They interrogated Ryan and I at the track," I replied. "They came to tear Ryan and I apart. Haleigh has a little boy and she claims he is Ryan's."

"Are you fucking kidding me?"

"I wish I was."

"We have to do something!"

"WE CAN'T." I raised my voice. "I refuse to talk to Ryan."

"McKayla, Ryan is your husband! Talk to him!" Emma says. She was right, I needed to do it eventually might as well be now. Tears slowly started to form in the corner of my eyes. She side hugs me.

"We'll do something about this, it'll all be okay."

||Home||

As soon as I walked through the door the kids come running down the stairs at me.

"Hi guys." I smiled. "How was grandma's house?" I asked.

"Good." They all responded. "Can we go play outside?" Peyton asks.

"Of course go ahead," I replied seeing Ryan coming down the stairs with a set of papers in his hands. I tried to make myself look busy, but Ryan doesn't hesitate and walks straight into the kitchen. He sets some papers in front of me and sits down.

"What are these?" I mumbled.

"Proof." He replies. "Proof, that Haleigh's kid is not mine." He adds. I picked the papers up and studied them for a while.

NEGATIVE

I will admit I was relieved that the test came back negative. But it doesn't explain why Ryan never told me about her or about his encounter with them a few weeks backs.

"Haleigh is a lair. She's just jealous because she could never make me as happy as you make me. I would never ever cheat on you because I love you so damn much." He says standing up from the chair. "I never told you about her because I thought I was protecting you, and I'm sorry about that."

"I'm sorry too." I cried.

"Sweetheart, you have nothing to be sorry about." He frowns pulling me to him. I bury my face in his chest. "I should've told you all those years ago when this was taking place." He says slowly stroking my hair. "I love you, and I would never do anything to jeopardize our family. We'll figure this out, I promise."

"I love you too."
