McKayla's POV:
"My sister, Mrs. McKayla Blaney to my office please," Chase says enthusiastically over the intercom. I step out of my office and walked over to Chase's office. Today was my first day back to work at Blaney Motorsports after a long few weeks. Peyton has been doing a lot better, she was already back in school along with the twins.
"You wanted to see me?" I chuckled walking in.
"Yes, yes I did." He turns around smiling.
"Chase, you're scaring me. What is it?"
"Nothing really, I just wanted to take you out for lunch. I feel like we haven't had some quality brother-sister time lately." Chase suggests.
"Alright, I'm good with that." I chuckled. "I just need to finish up an email, then we can go." I smiled.
"Alrighty." He says. Something was up, but I didn't know what. He was in too good of a mood. I head back over to my office and finished typing up my last email. I shut down my computer as Ryan walked by.
"Where are you going?"
"Chase and I are going out to lunch," I respond grabbing my things. "But don't worry, I haven't forgotten about our date night." I smiled.
"Good, you better not have." He smirks. "Have fun. Don't get in too much trouble." He adds pecking my cheek. I smiled and went on to meet Chase at the front door.
||Lunch||
"Thank you." I smiled as the waiter placed our food in front of us. "So, how is Lennox doing? I haven't heard from her lately."
"She's doing good. The kids are keeping her busy. We've been looking for a new house too." He comments.
"How's that been going?"
"Okay, I guess. We haven't really found anything bigger."
"Are you and Lennox wanting to expand the family?" I asked, before taking a bite of my food. "Wait, you guys aren't pregnant. Are you?" I questioned seeing Chase's demeanor switch. Chase's facial expression changed, but he shakes his head. "Don't lie to me Chase."
"Fine, but you didn't hear it from me." He whispers. "We were going to announce it this weekend at the track. You and Peyton are going this weekend right?"
"Yeah, we'll be there. I'll probably keep Peyton in the motor home during the race. She's still slowly recovering from everything."
"Enough about me. How are you and Ryan?"
"Despite everything that happened lately, we're doing good actually. Mom is coming over and watching the kids this evening. Ryan and I decided to finally go out."
"That'll be good for you guys. You guys are always so busy with the kids. Plus everything that has gone on with Peyton, that time alone with him will be good for you both."
||Whit & Kay's||
"Hey girl." Whitney smiles as I walked into the new, but empty store space we had just bought. "What are you doing here? Don't you and Ryan have a date?" She asks.
"Not for a couple more hours. I thought I would stop by and help." I say opening up one of our shipments. "Damn this is cute," I comment laying out the floral dress.
"Dammit, I forgot to buy hangers." Whitney frowns. "I'll call Austin." She adds pulling out her phone. "Hey babe, could you do McKayla and I a favor and go buy hangers for us?"
"What's in it for me?" He asks.
"Helping us build tables and racks," I replied.
"Lovely. Alright, I'm just about done at the shop, but I'm bringing Ryan with me."
"Sounds good to me."
"Thank you babe. Love you, bye." Whitney hangs up. "I can't believe this is happening," Whitney says looking around our place.
"I know right? Seemed like yesterday we started the online shop." I replied. "You wanna start talking about an opening date?"
"I think if we really work at this, maybe we'll be done in two weeks? I don't know, but I'm just really anxious to get this started." She smiles.
"Well, in those two weeks we need to start hiring people, fix our website, and start like an Instagram page or something."
"Oh my gosh, and we need models."
"I got one already. She's a friend of Ryan and Joey. She volunteered to help out with the shop, her name Emma Turner."
"Oh yeah! Austin is a really big fan of hers." Whitney opens up another shipment box and sorts through it.
"Handymen are here plus troublemakers," Ryan says walking into with Austin and the kids. "We got you the metal, vintage hangers because the plastic ones are just nasty."
"They're not stylish is what I said," Austin adds. Whit and I laughed.
"Who needs workers when we can just hire our husbands?" Whit chuckles as Summerlyn hugs her. "Hey girlies, you wanna help mom and I hang up some clothes?" Summerlyn and Peyton nod excitedly.
"Mom, you should wear this on your date with dad," Peyton suggested holding up the floral dress I had unpacked from earlier.
"Dad agrees," Ryan whispers. I glared over at him. "What? I'm just minding my own business and building a table." He throws his hands up. I crack into a smile and continued to work.
||2 Hours Later||
"I got one hot wife," Ryan comments as I walked down the stairs. I couldn't help but turn red after hearing his comment. "Alright kids, be good for grandma."
"We will. Have fun mom and dad." Peyton replies.
"Ready to go Mrs. Blaney?" Ryan asks extending a handout.
"More than ready." I smiled taking his hand in mine.
