Gajeel P.O.V

At eight sharp I was standing in front of the iron gates waiting for my short partner. She walked up to me and smiled."Oh good your here. Let's get going shall we?"

I followed her as she headed down the street."So what is this patrol we're doing?" I asked gruffly. "It is uncommon for a family to control such a large town. Most split it with others. We have small gangs that try to come in all the time plus other families that try to take out turf. So there are shifts, day and night that keep things under control. It's an easy three hours."

I groaned,'Three hours with this pipsqueak?' "If it's a problem Mr.Redfox you may leave. I can take care of myself."

"Tch, I can't just leave a little girl out by herself. No matter how tough she is." I muttered the last part but her giggle told me she heard me.

We walked for the longest time in silence. It wasn't uncomfortable but it wasn't the greatest thing ever. She suddenly stopped and turned to me.

"Wanna play a game?" She asked with a grin.

"Eh?!" I looked at her confused. "A game. The person who takes out the most thugs wins. Loser buys dinner."

I grinned at her."Sure shorty, but there's no one-" I was cut short by her quickly pulling out her gun and aiming it towards me. Before I could say anything she fired.

BANG

THUD

I looked behind me to see a man laying face down, a gun in hand. When I turned back we were surrounded by a good twenty men. She smiled sweetly, the impish smile.

"So gentlemen, from what family do you visit?" She re holstered her gun. They didn't answer her. Instead they charged us, yelling "Wild Four!". "Game on Black Steel!"She called to me. She crossed her arms, each hand going for a blade hilt.

I drew my own blade, the deep black metal glinting in the street light. The next few minutes were a flurry of blades and gun fire. Once everything was quiet, the groaning bodies of the 'Wild Four' were scattered around us.

"Now." She walked over to one man who was trying to crawl away. She stepped on his hand as he tried to reach for a gun. "Hasn't Quatro Puppy learned not to mess with us?"

"Bitch!" he spat at her. She kicked him hard, sending him sprawling. She turned to me. "Looks like your buying dinner." She smiled. I did a quick count. Damn... She had taken out three extra guys. I sighed. "Fine. Patrols almost over. Let's head back."

She nodded and started back down the street. I checked myself for damage as I followed her. Nothing serious, a nick here, a bruise there. The shrimp looked unscathed.

"That's some skill you have. I'm impressed." She called over here shoulder. "Did I just get a complement?" I grinned. "You want me to take it back?" "Gihee nah shorty it's fine."

"The name is Levy by the way." She said as she turned around. "Eh, I like shorty better." She puffed out her cheeks, making me laugh.

We made it to the iron gates where we met Natsu and his blonde partner Lucy. The girls hugged and started talking as me and Natsu fist bumped. "Hey man. Did she rough you up?" He pointed to the bruise on my shoulder.

"Tch like she could hurt me." He laughed. "You don't know man, she could kill you if she wanted." "Yeah right."

Lucy walked up and grabbed Natsus arm."We gotta go Natsu!" They waved as they ran off. Levy walked up to me."Since I'm making you pay for dinner you can atleast pick the place out."

I grinned."Come on then!" I lead her through town to a small run down bar. We sat at a table to the back."This place looks like crap but the food is great." I said as she looked around skeptically.

"I'll take your word on it." She said with a small smile. She pulled a book out of her bag. "A reader huh?" "Is that a problem?" She raised an eyebrow. I shook my head and she opened her book.

The waiter came up to us. I quickly glanced at the menu. "A beer with a burger and fries." I looked at the pipsqueak."Ill have the same." she said. The waiter nodded and went to get our food.

Levy had laid her book on the table and her finger was gently going across the page, like she didn't want to lose her place. Her eyes were focused on the page.

I leaned over the table to see what she was reading. There were no words. 'Eh?'

Then I saw it. There were small bumps scattered across the page, her fingers were skimming across them. "Brail? Your blind?!"
