As we walked outside, the women and children were scrambling into the safe house. I took a deep breath and smelt Cale about five minutes away.
"Let's kick ass!" I yelled. I knew Cale would be able to smell all of our wolves. He only had one hundred. We had one thousand. The vampires would attack soon because they would smell the blood of the battle.
Cale broke through the tree line and growled. Calu and I growled right back but we added a snarl at the end. We were still human but Cale had already Shifted, the idiot. Cale saw Calu's mark on my neck and my round belly and lunged for my neck.
Calu, thinking of me and the baby, launched himself and tackled Cale. They grappled for a second until the packs realized what was happening and attacked.
I leaped onto Cale's back and pressed my hand into his back while summoning thorns. Cale bucked me off. I flew through the air. Calu Shifted and I landed on his back.
I heard cheering and bells. Our allies were here.
