LIFE AND THE PHOENIX

The sky and the sea,

So close yet so far,

The bird and the dolphin,

Two imploding stars.

Death hath spoke their words,

True and with intent,

So now it is but my turn,

You must interpret what is meant.

I cannot spare your lives,

I cannot bargain in your stead,

Love is not enough to save

This bond that walks on dread.

He thinks it is game,

He says he always wins his hand,

So are you willing to sacrifice

Those who have always made a stand?

I believe that you can win,

That you can conquer Death,

But Life can only do so much

When I exist only on a breath.
