Allegro

The girl sitting across from him looked terrified and in pain and much to his dismay he could do nothing to stop it. His eyes trained on the road, Greece had just witnessed him shoot a man but she hadn't reacted the way he'd thought. As soon as he'd seen her apartment he'd known she was in some sort of trouble but decided not to pry but now driving her back to his compound he'd wished he'd intervened and this could have been avoided.

She sat curled against the car door, her head resting against the window. Suddenly her eyes caught his and they softened and Allegro felt his heart soften. He surveyed her body and caught sight of black and blues on her wrists and his expression instantly hardened. Her eyes followed where he was looking and she ran her fingertips over the bruises.
"He might have grabbed me too hard,"

Allegro gritted his teeth in realization that she wasn't making a big deal out of it, his eyes caught hers and she shrugged, "I've had worse."
He frowned, she shouldn't have had worse; it was then he silently vowed that she'd never be hurt again, no matter how small the injury may seem. Suddenly he stopped the car in front of his compound which was surrounded by a 10 feet tall wall and a black gate guarded by four men. At the sight of their boss the gate was opened and he peered over at Greece's facial expression.

Her mouth was ajar as he drove in as she took in the large house in front of her.
"This is where you live?"
"Yes,"
"It's huge." She commented.

He didn't say anything more but opened the door for her and tucked her into his side. At the sight of her he could see the surprised expression of his men. Women weren't allowed at the compound. They were at least twenty men in the front yard and all eyes seemed to be staring at Greece causing Allegro to want her hidden away from their prying eyes.

He could see her shrink away, "They're all staring...."
Noticing her discomfort he just sent them all a warning look and they immediately understood and looked away. Suddenly he could feel her looking at him, "How'd you do that?" She asked as they reached the door.
"Do what?" He answered unlocking the door with the code.

"Make them look away,"
"How do you know I did that.."
Greece quickly shook her head, "because I know you did."
There were only a few men inside and they all turned their attention to Allegro, "Capo," one man stood up approaching him.
Allegro raised his hand for him to come no further, "Whatever it is, it can wait until tomorrow."

The man nodded and Allegro ignored Greece's curious gaze as he guided her up the stairs. He opened the door to his bedroom and closed the door when she was inside. She swiveled her heel as she took in her surroundings, "This is your room,"
He nodded taking out two of his guns from his jacket pocket and placing it on the nightstand.
He saw her hug herself and bite her lip, "You're a gang leader."

His eyes met her crystal blue ones, pure; innocent a part of him was annoyed at the fact he'd just brought her into his world but now that she's here, he wasn't sure he'd be able to let her go.
"I run a Mafia."
He expected there to be silence before she spoke up, "Explains the accent"
Allegro shook his head at the nonchalant way she was handling this situation but would pry into it later because he didn't go without noticing that she was still holding her stomach, "Let me see,"

She gave him a look but nodded sitting on the bed, she lifted her shirt tentatively and Allegro cursed under his breath. How many times did that asshole hit her before he got there? Her stomach was black and blue all over but as he peered closer he saw old scars, deep scars probably from a knife that seemed to be there from at least two years ago. He ran his fingertips over them and he felt her hold her breath.

"Does that asshole hurt you?" His voice was sharp.
"If he does so help me God,"
She shook her head, "Not him specifically, his employer, my ex. He, um.... he's the one who..." She stuttered.
"Is that who you were running from?"
She looked away and Allegro knew the answer, "Who is he?"

"His name is Kazer. He runs a drug cartel, it's not popular but he's trying to make a name for himself."
Allegro stopped her, "I don't care about him I want to know what he has on you."
Greece shook her head, "I left him months ago but then his men found me today."
Allegro nodded, "Did he hurt you often?"
Greece looked away dismissively and Allegro didn't want to push her.

"Get some rest and I'll get something for your stomach."
She nodded as he left the room, he picked up ointment and an ice pack and headed back. He handed them to her and she smiled softly, "Capo, what does that mean?"
"It means boss," he answered, as he tucked her into his bed.

"So you're the boss."

He nodded, he was the boss.
