The next morning Bellamy knocked on Clarkes door, "Hey." He smiled and walked in. Clarke ran to him and hugged him. The two smiled, "So tell me everything that's happened while I was gone." Bellamy sat on the bed.
Clarke sat next to him. "Well, no sign of Azgeda for the past years. Vaccines worked. Everyone in Polis is under control and not rioting." Bellamy laughed.
"Your a pretty good Commander than." He smiled and held Clarkes hand.
She glanced to the window. "Yea I guess." Clarke was nervous to tell him about Madi. "Than Madi." Bellamys face glew up. Clarke didn't look him in the face, she looked straight ahead to the desk with papers. " I didn't tell her about us until the day before you came. She didn't know she had a father until she was eight. I didn't even say your name." Clarke started to sob into her her arms
Bellamy put his arms around Clarke. "Hey, it's ok." Clarke sat and up and looked at him.
"I didn't let her outside, I was afraid of what would happen to her." Clarke sobbed more into Bellamys shoulder.
Bellamy rubbed Clarkes back. "You protected her, which was the main priority." Clarke wiped off her tears. "She turned out great thanks to you." Bellamy smirked.
Clarke stared at him. They started to inch forward before Madi swung the doors opened. "Good morning!" She yelled. She ran to Bellamy and Clarke who stood up. "We should go outside today!"
Bellamy smiled and turned to Clarke. Clarke was about to say something before Raven and Murphy walked in. "Clarke, we need to talk." Raven said worried.
Clarke kneeled down to Madi. "Go color sweetie, we will talk later." Madi ran to her desk and began to draw. "What's up?" Clarke stood up looking at Raven and Murphy.
Octavia walked in confused on why everyone was in Clarkes room. "My motion censors are going off. A group of people are moving around." Raven answered.
Clarkes stomach pinched. "Azgeda." Octavia's face was bare. "Where were they?"
Raven took a deep breath. "The valley." Octavia's eyes widened. She ran out the room.
"Octavia!" Bellamy yelled going after her. Raven and Murphy looked at each other and followed Bellamy. Clarke ran to her dresser and grabbed a sword.
"I want to come!" Madi yelled pulling Clarkes shirt.
Clarke snapped, "no! You must stay here!" Clarke said strictly and ran out the door.
The crew reached the hill over looking the valley. It was grey, filled with smoke. Octavia screamed. The house was on fire. Octavia began to run down the hill, but Bellamy ran after her grabbing her. Clarke went after them.
Octavia was trying to fight out of Bellamys arms. "Octavia!" Clarke yelled at her trying to keep her steady. "There can still be Azgeda people there, they will kill you."
"No I need to get his journal and her toys!" Octavia screamed and sobbed at the same time. Bellamy kept pulling her towards him. Clarke looked at Octavia, she didn't know what to do.
Hours passed, the smoke was gone. There was no one in sight. The sun was setting. Once Bellamy let his grip on Octavia loosen she ran to the house. Clarke and Bellamy ran after her.
The majority of the wood of the house was fallen down. Octavia stopped infront of where the front door use to be. Now, it was just a hole with a wooden beam going across. She ducked under it. The house was open. She ran to where a hutch had burnt to a crisp. She rustled around in debris. "Where is it?" She mumbled. "Where is it!" She later than screamed.
Clarke walked into a different room. This one felt empty even if it wasn't burnt down. She was about to take a step, but then saw a pink rattle. She picked it up and went back to the main room where Octavia was still crawling around.
"Octavia?" Clarke asked. She walked next to Bellamy. Clarke held up the rattle. Octavia smiled, then cried.
She ran up to the rattle and grabbed it pulling it in her arms. Bellamy reached for Clarkes hand. Clarke gripped it. There was a creek at the door. Bellamy and Clarke turned sharply. Madi was staring at Octavia.
"Madi!" Clarke yelled running to her. "What are you doing? I told you to stay in the tower!" Clarke was furious.
Madi was still staring at Octavia. Clarke pulled Madi outside of the house. "Why...why was she crying like that?" Madi said with her eyes widened like she saw a ghost.
Clarke sat down on the dirt, having Madi sit next to her. Clarke had Madi lean her head on Clarkes shoulder. "She lost someone." Clarke put her arm around Madi. "Like if I were to lose you." Clarke had a tear go down her face. "I've kept you away from every bad thing in the world, but now your going to experience some." Madi sat up and looked at Clarke. "Which is why I need you to listen to me, ok?"
Madi nodded. "Yes"
"Because I can't loose you." Clarke hugged Madi. Bellamy and Octavia walked out. Octavia stared at Madi and Clarke hugging.
Bellamy and Clarke were scoping out the area while Madi and Octavia stayed outside the house. Octavia went to where the grave stone was. It was like the fire jumped over it. She started rattling the rattle and humming. Madi walked to the grave stone.
"I'm sorry." Madi began. Octavia was kneeling down infront of her.
"For what?" Octavia replied not turning around to see her.
"Your pain." Madi quivered. Octavia turned around and looked at Madi.
"Sit." Octavia patted the dirt next to her. Madi knelt down next to Octavia.
"Helios." Madi read. Octavia nodded. "That's a pretty name." Madi said.
Octavia smiled. "She was beautiful." Octavia rattled the rattle softly. Madi looked at the gravestone confused. "How many times have you been outside?" Octavia asked. Madi held up two fingers.Octavia took a deep breath. "This is a tomb stone." She started. "Where someone is buried and other people can remember them by."
There was a pause. "Was Helios special to you?" Madi asked.
Octavia nodded. "Very." Octavia wiped a tear off her face. "She was my daughter." Madi stared at Octavia. "I know what it's like to be the girl under the floor, Madi." Octavia turned to face Madi. "I was hidden for almost fifteen years, than locked up for two. When I came to the ground I was like you, nervous and excited."
"Well why aren't you afraid anymore?" Madi asked.
"Someone taught me not to." Octavia answered.
Bellamy and Clarke were patrolling the woods making sure it was safe to get back home before Madi and Octavia came back. "Earth is sure not what I was used to." Bellamy broke the silence.
"What did you do in space?" Clarke asked looking around.
"Wake up, make vaccines, thank about you and Madi.Murphy got a little annoying sometimes." They laughed. "I thought about everyday on Earth from when we landed." Bellamy said walking over a log. "I noticed something."
"Yea? What's that?" Clarke asked trying to step over the log, but it was to big.
Bellamy lifted her over the log. "That we take turns saving eachother." The two stared at eachother. Clarke re-lived every moment they ever had together. Suddenly there was a noise in the bushes.
Clarke was pulled away by an Azgeda warrior. Bellamy pulled out a gun before the man put a knife against Clarkes throat. Three others came out and grabbed Bellamy.
Octavia was talking about her life on the ground when Madi noticed a man walking behind the house towards them. Madi tapped Octavia and pointed to him. He began to run closer to them. Octavia's eyes widened, "Madi run!" Octavia screamed.
The two ran up started to run up the hill that dipped into the valley. The Azgeda man got closer. Octavia made it up without difficulty. Madi could not get up. "Come on, give me your hand." Madi kept jumping, but could not reach. The Azgedian was feet away from Madi. "Come on!" Octavia said louder. Madi touched Octavia's fingertips, before she was pulled away.
"No!" Madi screamed. "Let me go!" She began crying as he pulled her away from the hill. Octavia stayed looking out to the valley, she disappeared.
Bellamy and Clarke were walked to the Azgeda den. This was a new cave. Bellamy and Clarke were quiet and not aggressive. They were in the entry room when Bellamy was taken down a hallway. Seconds later, the man entered with Madi.
Clarkes hands were still tied behind her back. She tried running to Madi. "Let her go!" An Azgeda man grabbed Clarke and pulled her away. "She's a child! Let her go!" Clarke screamed as loud as she could, her voice cracking. Madi was in shock, and shaking. Her lips were trembling and she was to scared to cry.
Clarke had lost to many people in her life, but Madi was not going to be one.
