nothing is more awkward when you're telling your crush you can't make it when surrounded by his groups of friends that are all taller than you and probably older by one or two years as well.

when i step out onto the roof, jaebum's laugh is loud and clear.

he notices me soon after and head over to me, excusing himself from his friends.

"what's up?" he asks, a small smile on his face.

i could feel the blood rushing to my head as i told him i couldn't go to rehearsal today and explained why.

he only nodded and smiled, "alright. thanks for letting me know."

i don't know if i was just me, but i could've sworn his eyes sunk a bit when i told him i couldn't go today.
