Chapter 7

Clary POV

I've been looking everywhere for jace and still no luck in finding out. The last place that I am going to go is his grandmothers house. Right now I'm outside her front door and hoping that jace is there. I knock and wait for her to open up. The door open and stand a old lady that is in her 60's. "Clary what a surprise I didn't expect to see you here....how are you" Imogen said. She has the sweetest smile.

"Hello Ms herondale...I'm good thank you I was hoping jace might be here" I explain.

"No hun he didn't c-" but she was cut off by her phone. She hold up on finger for a minute a answer it. Imogen eyes go wide and are filled with tears. The phone call was ended her attention is back on me. So curious of what that call was about. "Jace was in an accident" those words ring in my ears and brought up a tears to my eyes. I fell to the ground and sob my heart out. Sob for blaming him for cheating on me. Sob for not trusting him. Sob for yelling and most of all sob for the pain that I put him through.

Imogen kneeled down to my level and comfort me. After I quiet down we head to the hospital and went straight to the receptionist. They gave us jace room number which is 268 on the second floor. We head up and went straight into the room to see jace with multiple devices hook up on him, and his eyes are closed.

A doctor came in and saw us. "Hello my name is Catherina Smith....are you Mr herondale's family" the doctor said. She look like in her mid thirties.

"Yes I  Imogen Herondale and this is his girlfriend Clarissa"  the doctor look at me from head to toe before stopping at my stomach.

"Are you too expecting" Dr. Smith asked. I nod. Imogen eyes lit up and congratulate me. Looks like jace never told her. Yet. "Ok well Mr herondale here was hit by a truck truck that did not have any brake. He have a seven broken rib, his left leg is broken also and has a concussion. We don't know when he will wake up. And he might lost some of his memories"  tears rolling down my face. This is all my fault. If I just listen to what he was saying this wouldn't have happen.

The doctor leaves and its just me and Imogen in the room. I walk to jace and sit in the chair on the right side of the bed.

"I'm so sorry Jace...."I sob loudly. THIS IS MY FUCKING FAULT...my mind screams. I felt hands on my shoulder and look up with blurry vision to see Imogen standing behind me trying to comfort me but the only comfort I want is jace. "Please wake up honey I can't do this on my own...I miss you...I need you. If I had just listen to what you had to say this wouldn't happen...please sweetie, please come back" I beg. I felt jace hands squeeze my right hand. I looked up.

"Jace" I choke out.
