"What you say makes no sense at all." I said, confused.

"I can't explain exactly to you. I know you're looking after her to satisfy your desire for revenge, but there are things I have to keep for myself. Criminals also need privacy."

"And despite the need for privacy, you came to me, why?" I asked, folding my hands on my chest, "What are you trying to achieve with this?"

"Change." His eyes were distant when he said that.

"You sound like Lavender." I said blankly. Maybe he's still be a tool that Lavender uses to distract me.

"Not at all. She has a different purpose than mine."

"And that is?"

"I can't tell you." He folded his hands on his chest and leaned against the office table.

"But-"

"I can't tell you," he interrupted me, "because I don't understand her purpose myself. Lavender is not the sharing type, you know. But what I do know is that Lavender is stronger than you think. She controls the underworld; you can say she's a politician there. She speaks and people listen. She doesn't speak a language you can understand, but we - the criminals, know how to listen to it. Behind all her murders, all her actions there is a hidden message."

Only now, after he said those words, I noticed how much he had changed. His characteristic arrogance disappeared, replaced by heavy fatigue. His green eyes were full of sadness as he ran his hand through his wild blond hair that looked more messy than ever.

My brother. No matter how angry I am, I'm still worried about him. "And what is this message?" I asked him gently.

His gaze was distant when he replied, "End of government, change. She wants revenge, and to change the existing order."

The cold gun was pressed against my head, and the cold sweat began to disturb me.

"I think I'll have a little fun with you before I kill you." The soft female voice almost gurgled in my ears, shuddering through my body.

"Why not having fun with me without killing me?" I said in a steady voice, still frozen in my place.

She giggled, her gun tremble against to my temple, "My, oh my. A policeman with a sense of humor. You really think I'll let you go away alive? Or you're hust joking around. Haha." I felt her fake laugh as she pressed her body against mine.

"A guy can dream, right?" I said quietly, trying to figure out a way to get out of this mess.

"Are you sure you're really a guy?" She purred in my ear.

"Now you're just insulting me." I said, and with one quick movement, I grabbed her hand that holds the gun, twisted it behind her back, and disarmed her from her weapon.

She groaned in surprise and I blocked her mouth with one hand, pressing my gun against her temple and whispering, "Enough with the games, show me where your boss is."

~ Today ~

"What does it mean, that she's going to kill every politician? That would be a lot of work, even for her." I said bitterly. "And revenge who? The whole world? What you say doesn't work out." So many parts doesn't fit in Lavender's puzzle, it makes me a headache.

He avoided my eyes again, fiddling with the pen he found on the table. He isn't going to answer me.

"I thought you wanted to help me." I said, the disappointment was clearly in my voice.
