"Lavender, stop! Hands up!" I shouted and pointed my loaded gun at her.

She looked at me with her emotionless black eyes, her silver gun pointed at me. She began to smile coldly and her French accent stood out when she said seductively, "Why, what will you do to me, dear Nick? Shoot me? Go on, then."

For emphasis she lowered her silver gun and distanced her hands from her body, as if she was waiting for a hug.

I wish that was the case.

"Lavender, put the gun on the ground, now! I don't want to hurt you!" I kept shouting at her, hoping for a change she would listen to me.

But I know that woman too damn well.

She smiled seductively, her thick red lips seemed to mock at me as she raised her gun and her silvery dress fall gracefully over her shoulders, "The investigator Nicholas," she said in her hoarse voice, that always made my body shiver, "haven't you learned yet?" She tilted her head to the side, smiling gently.

"Learned what?" I whispered, feeling my hand holding the gun trembling.

She stared at me with her burning black eyes and announced in a steady voice, "Don't ever tell me what to do."

Then the sound of a shot ripped through the air.
