---Meg---

She walked out of the bathroom still drying her hair and saw Calvin say on her bed looking nervous.
"What's up?" She asked, sitting next to him. Calvin looked at her, and meg was slightly alarmed by the look in his eyes.
"Meg, my dad's gonna get a call saying I was released from the hospital. Then what? He'll know I didn't come home and he'll come looking for me. I know I say I'm not scared of him but truthfully I am sometimes, and I don't know what I'm gonna do".
Meg pulled Calvin into a tight hug.
"I promise I'll never let that crazy guy come anywhere near you" she whispered.
Meg felt Calvin pull away from the hug slightly, but before she could anything she felt his lips gently pressing against hers. She was melting into the kiss when she heard a knock on her door and they jumped apart as her mom opened the door.
"Night you two" she said sleepily before closing the door.

---Calvin---

He was boggled when he woke up the next morning. Calvin took a look around and his confusion quickly turned to happiness when he looked up from his sleeping bag and saw the sleeping face of Meg.
He couldn't help but smile as he looked at her; she looked so peaceful.
Her eyes opened slowly and Calvin felt his face go red. Meg giggled sleepily. She leaned over the edge of her bed and pushed his hair out of his face.
"Come on," she said getting out of bed, being careful not to step on him. "We've gotta get ready for school". Calvin groaned as meg pulled him up out of the sleeping bag and pushed him towards the bathroom. "You can get changed in there and ill meet you downstairs when your done" she said walking back to her own room. And as he what had her walk away, Calvin couldn't help but feel a sense of happiness that she was willing to protect him against his dad.
As he got downstairs, he saw Dr. Murray, Mrs Murray and Charles Wallace sat eating cereal at the kitchen table. He sat down with them and ate and, not much later, meg walked downstairs and sat next to him. They ate quickly before grabbing their bags and walking to school. They didn't care that they were going to be late, but they chatted the whole way. And by the time they arrived, the teachers were on the lookout for latecomers so they said their goodbyes to Charles Wallace and snuck in the back of the classroom laughing.

---Meg---

Since they didn't have many classes together, Meg promised Calvin she'd meet him by the gate after school. "Dont take too long" she said before turning around and walking to her physics class.

School had finished 10 minutes ago, but meg and Charles Wallace were still waiting for Calvin to appear. Meg looked at Charles Wallace. "You stay here. Ill go find him" she said stroking his hair and she set off back towards the school. She walked to the doorway leading to the corridor, but stopped before she went through the doorway. Instead, she ducked behind the door and peered through the window.
Because in the deserted corridor, she could see Calvin. But he wasn't alone. He was talking to someone. And when Meg looked closer, her jaw dropped open.
So many thoughts ran through her mind, but the one streaming through her mind like a jet was 'Why is he talking to Veronica Kylie?'

Meg watched as they chatted happily. Calvin checked his watch and said something to Veronica, before hugging her and walking towards the doorway Meg was hiding in. She turned around and sprinted outside to Charles Wallace. "I've been waiting here with you" she said. Charles Wallace nodded, and Calvin came up the path. "Hey! Sorry I took a while" he said smiling at them. And meg couldn't help but smile back. She could just talk to him about it later.
When they got home, her mom and dad took them into the kitchen. "kids, we know you've loved having Calvin stay with us, and so have we. But his family has contacted us and said that he can stay with them". Meg looked at Calvin who just looked down guiltily. She stood up from her chair and went to her room and lay down on her bed.
She was lost deep in thought until she heard a knock a few minutes later there was a knock on her door , then it opened. "Why didn't you tell me?" She asked quietly. Calvin sighed as he sat next to her on the bed. "I didn't want you to be mad at me" he said. "But my aunt and uncle live really close by so I can still walk to and from school with you".
The doorbell went, and Meg and Calvin heard her mom shout up. "Calvin, your cousins here". Calvin picked up his bag and, hand in hand, they walked downstairs. "Meg, this is my cousin" Calvin said, and as meg looked at his cousin, her jaw dropped...
