Riptid3 P.O.V.

Some long forgotten hunter unlocked the first challenge. It's located on Liberty Island. It's a race designed by Halliday himself. This race is fucking hard. I did it once before and it totaled my bike, which made me so infuriated. I had Aech fix up my bike. He's great at mechanics and one of the only people I talk to besides Arti.

As usual, there are a crap ton of people at the starting line. Most of them are sixers. I despise them so much. IOI can kiss my ass. Their leader will obliterate the main purpose of the OASIS if any one of his minions completed the three challenges.

I pull up beside Arti. We have identical helmets, except for the color of course. I opened my mouth to ask Arti something, but I catch her staring at some commodity behind me. I followed her gaze and I saw another avatar intently staring back at her. But his eyes whipped over to me as soon as I turned around. He had silver-blue hair, same thing with his skin. He wasn't bad looking at all. But he doesn't look like that at all in real life. It's common knowledge to understand that here in the OASIS.

His eyes kept snapping between Arti and I. Luckily our faces were hidden under our helmets. He seemed somewhat perplexed. I noticed he was driving a Delorian. That is wicked! I've always wanted that car in reality!

I was removed from my staring contest with the mysterious avatar by Arti gently nudging my shoulder. I turned my eyes towards the front with a smirk. The lights turned on, signaling the race would be commencing quite soon.

Red

Yellow

Green

The fireworks went off and we all sped off. I kept my head down and raced beside Arti. I could see in my mirror that Delorian wasn't far behind us.

Impressive

A bunch of sixers crashed at the start. That proves how pathetic they are.

The road split and some more people crashed. Arti and I went above the other track. We tried going down below last time, but it proved to be the worst option. We slid under the incoming train which burst apart. Arti and I arrived on a straight track beside Delorian.

Parzival P.O.V.

"Aech! You seeing this?!"

"Yeah, that's a bike-

"No! Forget the bikes! I think those two are Art3mis and Riptid3!"

"You mean THE '3 duo'?! The sixer fixers?!"

"I've seen their twitch streams and play throughs. I think it's them!"

I glance back at them. They're so cool. I know it's lame to think that. I have a cyber crush on both of them. Again, I know that's stupid, to like two people that I don't even know.

I snap out of my thoughts and redirect my attention to the race.

Once we exit the bridge madness, we arrive at China Town. Arti and I stop and allow the sixers to pass ahead of us and straight into the jaws of the T-Rex. Once it's preoccupied, I race under it with Arti following behind. Then I hear what I've been dreading about this race.

My eyes glance up and see Kong heading towards the racers ahead of us. He breaks the bridge ahead of us and disappears below the destruction. Aech's monster truck loses a wheel with the sudden brake and bumps a bat mobile off the edge. I sigh but then notice a piece of track curved up instead of down. I smile and speed over it and into the air. I manage to land on the track ahead. I hear a thud behind me and see the magenta bike I'm used to.

The track is straight for a while but I get worried because I don't see Kong.

I see a car parked up ahead. And I notice someone waving and yelling.

What is that guy doing?!

We get closer and I realize it's Delorian. I can also make out what he's saying.

"Bail!"

Why on Earth is he telling us to stop?!

I brake seeing the broken track. I remember Kong earlier and I don't trust this at all.

Arti ignores his pleas and speeds up ahead of me. She goes off the ramp but Delorian pulls her off her bike.

What. The. Actual. Fuck.

My attention is then drawn to the massive Kong who's caught Arti's bike. He breaks it as if it's the easier thing he's done. Arti's bike comes crashing down. It's completely totaled, just like what happened to me last time.

I look over at Delorian and I realize he's pinning Ari.

Oh no, you don't.

I throw my helmet off and I honestly didn't care if it was broken or not. I stomp over and yank him off. I pin him against his car.

"What the hell was that?! I know you saved her skin from Kong, but still!"

I was infuriated. My breathing was heavy and my eyes were narrowed. I would beat this guy till he was drained of his credits and dead.

"Whoa-whoa, calm down!"

"Why should I?" I tilted my head and gazed at him with wrath.

"I just wanted to save her!" He says with fear evident in both his voice and eyes. But also a slight hint of realization.

Before he can respond, I let go of him and go help, Ari. She's not hurt, but she's pissed.

"Damn I loved that bike."

"Oh! My friend Aech, he can fix it for you!" I hear Delorian saying. I glare at him over my shoulder, which causes him to shut up.

Arti puts her trashed bike in her inventory. I do the same with mine.

Then, I hear Delorian stuttering.

"Yo-your the 3 duo!"

I turn around on my heel and glance at him.

"Oh really, we had no idea. Thanks for letting us know," I reply with as much sarcasm as I can fit into my voice. I bow at the same time to express my "gratitude".

I finally hear Ari say something.

"Alright, take us to Aech."

"Gladly!" Delorian says with way too much enthusiasm.

Who is this guy?
