Fooled

Sorento's P.O.V. (two hours before)

"Zandor, I need you to do me a favor," I say to my assistant while walking through boxes full of criminals. All of them working for me because of their unintelligible mistakes.

"What is it?"

"I'm currently occupied by our new asset, who I'm going to send into the OASIS within the hour. I need you to find that wretched Wade Watts. It's confirmed that he lives in this city because we blew it up, but his current whereabouts are unknown. Find him."

"As you wish," she sighs before walking off. I smirk and walk back up to my office.

Our asset is sitting on one of the many couches, sitting as straight as humanly possible, staring straight ahead without movement. I crouch in front of her and her gaze shifts to me. She's my toy, to control how I please.

"Do you know what you need to do?"

"Yes," she says in a monotone voice.

"Good," I say with a smile before standing up, facing my scientists. "Send her in."

Riptid3's P.O.V. (present)

I'm trapped.

I can't find a way out.

Some other personality has shown its face and pushed me back into the dark corners of my own mind.

My body is wearing an invisible mask only I know about.

That mask is going to rear its ugly head and destroy everything I care about.

I want to be free, but I can't fight it.

The mask won't come off, no matter how hard I try.

I'm stuck in my own demise.

Parzival's P.O.V.

The five of us, including Daito, Aech, Arti, Sho, and myself, we each got a jade key. I glance at the scoreboard and we're all up there, but Ty has moved down to sixth place. I sigh.

How are we supposed to find her?

I'm lost in my own thoughts until I hear Aech scream.

Well, that's new.

I run over to him to see what the hell occurred. "Aech, what's gotten into you?!"

"She found the key!"

"Who?!" I hear Arti shout from my left.

Aech shoves his tablet in our faces and I let my jaw drop.

Ty is back up in the second place slot.

"But how? She wasn't with us when we went through the house," Sho questions.

"No, I wasn't but that doesn't mean I'm stupid!"

We all spin around at that familiar face. I see Ty holding a jade key with the biggest grin on her face. I lose my mind and run up to her, embracing her. She hugs me back while giggling. I set her down smiling. She runs off to the rest of the group and hugs each one of them.

I want to meet her in real life, just like Arti... but then I remember something.

That's odd, she's not usually a hugger. I tried hugging her once a few days ago and she nearly shot me. I guess the hug at the race was a one-time thing.

"Where were you?!" Arti exclaims.

"Off on my own adventure. I was trying to figure out where the third key was but I then forgot that I don't have the clue from the second challenge. I'm used to thinking ahead, but it didn't work this time."

"Oh," Arti says, but I think she's still skeptical about it.

Well, we're fucked.

Sorento's P.O.V.

"One of the sixers cracked the clue to the third challenge. We're searching Sector 12 and we just found it. It's in Anorack's castle.

I smile after hearing that. We'll be ahead of the game. I get up and head towards the servitude area. A person watching over them glances at me.

"Move all of these avatars to Anorak's Castle. Secure it," I instruct.

"Yes sir," he responds and walks off.

Zandor's P.O.V.

"How far?"

"500 meters, ma'am."

"Good," I say and sit back. Sorento placed a tracker in his asset, which followed the real Wade to his current location. He's is so gullible.

The van stops and the back doors crack open. I hop out and asses the building.

Easy.

Art3mis's P.O.V.

Ty came back home in reality and the game. Wade wouldn't stop smiling and saying how pretty she is. It's so laughable.

Although... I don't know where she was, but it wasn't good. She's different... The change is slight but present.

As I'm processing that, gunshots rang in my hears. I grabbed Parzival and Ty and ran towards the secret exit. I opened the hatch.

"This leads straight to the back alley."

"Are you coming?" He asks me.

"I'll be right behind you."

He sighs but complies. He crawls through and I move to allow Ty to crawl through.

She smirks and slams me against the wall. All breath is knocked out of me. I blink back the tears and gaze at her. Her smile is wicked and her eyes are sinister. Her normally ocean blue eyes flash an almost neon blue. She moves one hand to my neck and the other to the hatch. She slams the door shut.

Ty grabs me and starts navigating towards a back area. I'm suddenly greeted by Zandor and her minions. I knew wherever I'm going isn't a safe haven.

Phew! Hey guys! I know I haven't updated in awhile, but I had an issue with my boyfriend and that took my time. I broke up with him because he was manipulative.

Also, I changed my username! It's now @baepsaepic!
