Morning came in the form of a five year old climbing on his bed and jumping on his stomach — repeatedly.
"Rina! Stop jumping on him he's still sleeping!" Forth's unmistakable voice hissed through the door.
Beam opens his eyes and rubbed the droopiness away from his face. Rina was still on top of him bouncing on his tummy.
She leaned in to have a closer look at him. "Hi!" She waves two hands in front of his face, giggling. "I'm Rina! Who are you?!"
"Hello. My name is Beam." He managed to say despite still being sleepy, he ruffled her hair.
Forth pinched the bridge of his nose and sighed. "I'm sorry." He picked up the kid who identified her self as Rina from Beam's tummy and whispered loudly. "Okay Rina, this is Beam, Beam this is Rina, she's the mini me of P'Ria. Rina, now is not the time to interrogate him, he's a little grumpy in the morning." Rina giggled again and Forth set her down. "Go to your room and take a bath, Auntie helper is waiting."
"Okay!" The girl happily obliged and ran out of the room.
"Good morning."
"Mm. What time is it?" Beam asks, his voice hoarse.
"About 8:30 am. Did you sleep well?" Forth sat on the edge of the bed placing a kiss on the top of Beam's disheveled mass of black hair as an morning greeting.
"Wow it's pretty early for a Sunday. Are we leaving already?" He stretched and yawned.
"No. Go get ready for breakfast. The others are probably downstairs waiting for us."
"Okay." Beam yawns again. "What time are we leaving again?"
"We can leave later after dark. It's only a two hour drive..besides, your morning classes on Monday got cancelled."
"How do you even know that?"
"Ai'Pha called. He asked if we eloped after he accused me of kidnapping." Forth said with a lopsided smile while Beam wrinkled his nose.
"And what did you tell him? let me guess.."
"i told him there's no need for that..then he called me a lucky bastard..i wonder why.."
Beam smirked as he lazily went to the bathroom to wash the laziness of the morning away.
Breakfast was already served when Forth and Beam came to the dining room. The elders had already left because Sundays and day offs were not in your vocabulary if you're a busy person. All the young ones had decided to stay until after lunch and were left in the house under the care of Auntie Jade.
"What's with your faces?" Bright asked everyone when they were all seated at the table. "You all look like shit." Auntie Jade pointedly cleared her throat and glared at Bright for the choice if inappropriate word.
"Coming from the worst faced person in this table, i beg to differ." Toota shot back, not really amused of being woken up early by Auntie Jade. She said they need to eat away the hangover so she knocked on everyone's door until they woke up.
"You should all drink this banana smoothie to relieve those buzzing headaches." Auntie Jade said while she sat with them at the table and started placing food on her plate.
"Eugh!" Pick said after taking a sip of the smoothie. "Who the hell invented these things..yuck!"
Pick received a glare from Auntie Jade and everyone chuckled when he didn't say anything more to retaliate.
No one in the family dared to disrespect Auntie Jade. She was a sweet lady and is an easy going person that's why Forth and his cousins can joke around with her but only to an extent. Everyone did what she told them to especially when they came to seek her advice. She was youngest sister of Forth's grandfather and the only one alive in that generation thus making her the oldest member of the clan. So no one really dared to make her mad.
