"Barry you really need to get out more so what if Iris broke up with you, she's a bitch she's not helpful in anyway and yet she thinks she's better then everyone" felicity said pulling Barry out of bed.
"No. I'm fine I went out on Tuesday"
Felcity let out a frustrated groaned "it's Friday...and you need to come out with me tonight there's a poetry reading in the coffee shop down the road and I promise it will make you feel beet lots of people wrote poems after break ups"
"So your saying to get over to my break up I need to be around more misreble people like me?" Barry laughed bitterly
"Yes. Now go shower and shave you have 15 minuets"
Barry rolled his eyes "why don't you just go with Oliver? he is your soulmate so it's his job to go with you to all this boring crap"
Felcity punched him in the arm.
"Ow" Barry poured rubbing the spot shed just hit.
"Oliver is going out with Tommy tonight. So you are going with me because you are dealing with a broken heart and hey maybe you'll meet your soulmate"
Barry huffed "highly unlikely"
"Just go shower. Now"
Barry rolled his eyes but went to go shower he could handle an hour of sad people talking about there problems, it might even make him feel better about his own.
He pulled his shirt over his head and looked down at the words that were permatntly on his skin the ones that he'd been born with the first words that his soulmate would ever say to him were written just under his collar bone in fancy writing they read...
Loving him was like loving the stars.
Barry had never known what to think of that sentence. His mother had loved it she said it was very poetic and that his soulmate would be an amazing woman.
But his mother would never meet his soulmate because she died 2 years ago when he was 17 and now he was 19 and in collage and he still missed her like crazy meting iris was one of the best things that had ever happened to him... well that's what he thought.
He was wrong. Iris wasn't his soulmate he'd known that from the start Iris was just one of those Ex's that you bump into in a supermarket in 10 years time and you just look at each other but don't say anything you just clutch your wife's hand and then gaze at your young child and smile before sparing her one last glance and you finaly feel happy that she broke your heart when you were young because it got you here.
Or she was one of those Ex's that you see in the supermarket while your shopping alone for beer on your lonely Friday night and when she sees you she smiles at you and says something like long time no see then introduces you to her husband as a old friend before glancing at the alcohol in your hands and walking away and that's when you realise that your heart was still broken just stuck together with sticky tape that was slowly peeling away. She's one of those Ex's that you see again and make you wise your life was different.
His relationship with Iris had always been toxic. He thought they'd had a lot in comman because her mother had died when she was a child and he thought that they could maybe bond over that... but they just hadn't. He knew they had a shirty relationship but it was still a relationship...maybe he was just scared to be alone he wasn't sure.
15 minuets later he was freshly showered and shaved and he had gotten dressed he met felicity outside his dorm room and they went to the poetry reading.
***
So far Barry was bored and all the poetry was just depressing him even more he'd herd people ran about feminism and there partners cheating on them and their appearance and he was only 20 minuets in.
