As I lay in bed I hear my phone vibrate and the screen light up. Jaeden: Hey, today was fun. Me: Yeah, I enjoyed it xx Jaeden: So when can we go on that date then? Me: I'm free all weekend Jaeden: I'll pick you up at 10:00 on Saturday Me: Looking forward to it
I lock my phone and stare up at the dark ceiling. I like Jaeden. But I wish it was going on that date with someone else. I toss and turn all night, my thoughts keeping me from falling asleep. I can't stop replaying my kiss with Finn in my head. It was magical and I don't think anything else could ever come close.
~SATURDAY MORNING~
I get up and get dressed, I put on some ripped jeans, my favourite shirt and my vans.

Its only 8:00 and I have 2 hours until Jaeden picks me up. I am so nervous, my stomach is in knots and I feel like I'm going to be sick. The thing is I've never actually been on a proper date before. It's ridiculous, I've already kissed two boys but I've never even been on a date. I wander around my house, trying to look for things to distract myself. I end up just re-watching stranger things for the millionth time. I really need to stop obsessing over Finn, for God's sake! I'm going on a date with someone else in like 2 minutes. I anxiously sit and wait in my kitchen, he should be here any minute...
The doorbell rings. I run to the door and open it to see Jaeden stood there with two bikes and what looks to be a picnic basket. "Oh my god, you're so cute" I say, giving him my biggest smile. He smiles back and blushes slightly. "I thought we could go on a bike ride through the park and then I made us some food for afterwards." He says, waiting for my response. "I love it" I give him a peck on the cheek "ok, which bikes mine?" He wheels one forward. I quickly jump on the saddle and he does as well. Today's going to be good.
~AFTER THE BIKE RIDE~
He carefully lays a red checked picnic blanket on the ground and sets the basket down. He pulls out two plastic wine glasses and some lemonade. "A beverage, Madame?" He says in a French accent, raising his eyebrows and starting to unscrew the cap. "Of course" I giggle, accepting the drink and taking a sip. "So what food did you bring us?" He pulls out all the food and puts it on the blanket, he certainly came well prepared. We start to eat. "I'm really enjoying today" Jaeden suddenly says, "I, er, there's no one else I'd rather be here with" he gives me a bashful smile. I reach out and take a hold of his hand, "Same." I reply, interlacing our fingers. I wish I was telling the truth. I'd give anything to feel the same, but no matter what that one person is still on my mind. " Em, Y/N, are you ok?" He says, looking nervous. I realise I must have been lost in thought and vacantly staring into the distance. "Oh yeah, sorry, I was just thinking" I apologise, reassuringly squeezing his hand. "You know, I've been thinking too" he stares intently into my eyes. "About what?" "This may seem sudden but since we both enjoyed today, and we both enjoyed the kiss, maybe we could, you know-" he trails off, anxiously waiting to see what I'd say. "Maybe we could date?" I finish his sentence. "Yeah! Well, do you want to?" This is hard. Normally I would say yes straight away, he's caring, funny, and good looking. But he's not Finn. I really don't want to hurt his feelings though, so I say- "Yes, I'd love to" I lean over and kiss him. Not like I did outside the ice cream place, sweeter and more gentle. I pull away and see him giving me the biggest smile I have ever seen. I wish I was that happy.
