12 - Avairy Action

I checked off Djimmi's and Beppi's box for their soul contracts. A giant shadow flew over me just as I did so and everything went dark for a second. I looked up and saw a giant bird flying towards a huge birdhouse. It had some twigs in its mouth, but to me it was like giant branches. I watched as it flew over to its house and settled in. I looked back at my list and saw a name called Wally Warbles. A giant creepy smile came across my face as I walked over to the birdhouse.

As I walked towards the house and I smiled again. You might've hatched a little plan to get the next contract, but forget about that. You were getting impatient with these debtors wasting your time to save your friends. The Devil will pay for what he has done and it will be a nice feeling when you punish him.

When you finally got there you saw your airplane on the ground again. You didn't question it this time and just got in. You started to rise up in the sky. You spotted a birdhouse flying in the sky and it flew over to you. It looked like a cuckoo clock until the giant bird busted out of the house, and now its head, wings, and legs were out of the house. It looked very pissed but you didn't really care.

It immediately started shooting eggs and bullets at you. You dodged them all and shot at him. Every time an egg would crack, multiple shell pieces would fly at you and that was just more work for you. Wally eventually got even angrier and started waving his wings around which made his feathers shoot at you. How the hell is he not bald yet? After all those feathers he shot? Oh great here they come again. You shot and extra move at him and he then slid out of the birdhouse finally bald from all the loss of feathers.

Pffffffft! Really? He just goes off and dies like that? He even leaves his son... welp that was his mistake. His son was now flying around in a little nest with sharp eggs floating around him. You tried to get past them all but the son moved purposely into you and made and egg dig into your arm. You winced and let out a small squeal while trying to fly the plane away from him. He laughed manically when I did so and started moving towards me again. I took a sharp turn upwards and he shot at me with a gun. The pink bullet hit you in your side but this time you didn't care. You used an extra move on him and that caught him by surprise. He then started crying and flew out of your area.

You looked around to see only a clear blue sky around you. Wait, where are they? And where's my flipping contract? You have got to be kidding me, I seriously didn't fight them for nothing! You then heard a high pitched squawk from below and looked down. It was Wally in a stretcher being carried by two blue nurse birds. The nurses were a lot smaller than Wally, but were definitely really strong too. Wally shot an angry look at you while the nurses looked at you confused. Wally then pushed his feet into his chest and his heart came out of his mouth.

Woah! What the hell? But to be honest that's not the most fucked up thing I've seen... I think that's a bad sign but whatever. Let's kill this bird. I shot my bullets from my plane and noticed that I was completely missing Wally. So I changed my class to bombs. Wally threw more attacks at me while I did the same.

Soon after that the nurses started lowering Wally to the ground while looking tired. Wally looked exhausted but still looked tough. When we flew to the ground I started walking towards Wally and his little "friends". I grabbed the contract and was about to turn around when I heard a voice.

"Please don't hurt me and my son... we... we are just trying to... be safe. Away from everyone else. Just... whatever you do... don't hurt my son..." It seemed to have come from Wally. I then felt a wave of guilt wash over me. I had hurt people and I now realized that. "Wally, I would never hurt your son... I just- I don't know what I was thinking. I'm just trying to h-help my friends right now. T-there in big trouble and it's up to me to save t-them." Tears brimmed your eyes and you clenched your fists. "I just want to make sure their ok! I have never f-felt so panicky in my life! I'm so sorry I hurt you guys!" And with that you burst into tears.

"I... know how it feels. To be overprotective and almost lose something you love. But, others are here for you and I just want you to be ok too... you know?" Wally said considerably. And with that Wally waddled over to you and hugged you. Hugged you like he was your own father. And you let the hug happen, you didn't stop it. You felt so scared and lonely. So you let it happen.

"I really am a monster aren't I?" you spoke. "No! Why do you think that? Your just doing what's best for the people you love. I understand." said Wally. "Thanks." you say as you wipe the tears from your eyes. Wally nodded and went back into his birdhouse where his son was. You watched as Wally flew away to his nest in the mountains. You smiled. Not the creepy one. You actually smiled. Then with that you checked off Wally's box and headed towards a familiar looking castle.
