"What party?" Zara's mom, Trudy asked perplexed.

Tell me I️ can't go, she thought.

"I️ asked you if I️ could go to the party like three days ago." she answered matter-of-factly, "you said yes."

A part of Zara, granted a very tiny, very microscopic part of her, actually did want to go to the party.

Just to see what it feel likes to be included.

But the majority of Zara was dreading it.
The crowd.
The things they do.
The way they act.

The whole nine.

If they acted that way at school, it'll be way worse without supervision.

At least that's the way they acted at her old school.

But it's a school full of white people, so the parties might not be the same as they were back in New York.

They could be boring.
Or like those country club get-togethers.

"Oh, okay that's fine. Be home at a reasonable hour."

She heard Blacklist playing on Netflix in the background.

Her mom's favorite show.

"Okay." Zara replied shortly.
"Bye mommy."

She️ hang up the phone, letting out a inaudible sigh.

"She said yes," Zara stated halfheartedly.

Kelsey saw the disappointment Zara tried to hide on her face.

"Don't worry Zara," Kelsey comforted her, "I'll be by your side the whole time."

"Promise?"

"Promise."

Zara would remember that later.

She stuck out her pinky and Zara️ wrapped her pinky around it.

That made me feel a tad bit better, she thought.

"Now," Kelsey said rising off her bed, "we have to prepare."
Zara groaned as she aggressively shoved her head into one of Kelsey's throw pillows.

Kelsey rummaged through her closet, looking for an outfit to wear.

She found an orange lace-up dress, grabbing it by its white hanger and throwing it on the bed.

That'll look cute on her, Zara thought enviously.

"There you go." Kelsey said, turning back to look for more clothes.

Zara looked up at her, a puzzled look outspread on her face, waiting for Kelsey turn around and see her reaction.

"What?"

"Ma'am, you're batshit crazy, coo coo for Cocoa Puffs, if you think I'm wearing that on my refrigerator ass body," she started.
"I'm not built for that kind of dress, my legs'll look weird, my stomach will poke out."

And Jax will be disgusted, she thought to herself.

"My cleavage will show and my shoulders will look wei-" she rambled on, supporting her claim.

"Alright," Kelsey interrupted as she turned to face her closet, seeking another potential party outfit.
