Her breathing was harsh, fingertips gripped tightly on the wet sand that surrounded her. Due to the little strength that she had, she struggled to lift her eyelids open and face the burn of the moonlight.

"I know.." the memory in her mind echoed, "you don't know what it feels like to have a heart.."

And then suddenly, it vanished with the crash of the heavy waves against the rocks awakening her, pushing her body up before falling back down and choking in hard coughs.

After waiting a few minutes to gather up as much energy as she can muster, she lifted herself towards the horizon of the water, the reflection of the moon glittering against it.
