They had rowed to the other side of the river. Jody was more awake now, still dazed by what happened, curious as to how it happened.

When they reached the other side, Tristan pulled Jody to her feet, she slapped his hand away, obviously embarrassed that he had seen her when she felt helpless. He didn't say anything, he just let her stomp out of the shallow water and look around in the trees for anyone nearby.

Daniel was the first to speak, "what the hell do you think happened back there?" Jody spoke up sarcasm in her voice as usual, "do you not remember Daniel, we stopped to have a tea party. What do you think happened, a faller has obviously tried to kill me." She walked back and forth hands on her back, as she stretched the bones in her back cracked and she a sigh came from her pink lips as the strain had been released.

Daniel snapped " okay I'm done with your sarcasm, if I was going to kill you, both of you would already be dead, so stop acting as if I am the bad guy here." She raised her hands and suddenly Daniel was on the floor clutching his stomach in pain, short high pitched squeals coming from his mouth.

Tristan grabbed Jody's arms and Daniel stopped screaming, he was still on the floor but he started to push himself off the floor. Struggling Tristan tried to pull Jody to the other side of the square of green before the trees, "Jody stop, calm down." He shouted at her, "why?" There were tears in her eyes, he had never seen her like this, broken.

She broke free from his arms and ran over to Daniel, she checked his pulse and helped him to his feet, "Daniel I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to.... I don't know what happened.."  "I don't want to hear your excuses Jody just leave me alone, okay!" He got off the floor and walked into towards the castle.

This is where everything gets difficult.

They made their way to the wall surrounding Aspen, guards were standing at every entrance, if the person or thing who threw Jody was working with them, it's one explanation as to why they are standing there, they new they had left the cabin and were across the lake at the Aspen side.

"So what's the plan." Tristan asked Jody as he sat down beside her. "Why are you asking me aren't you the leader of this whole thing, you usually come up with the plans." She was messing with her dagger, it's was her only family, well the only thing left of them, it was her mum that gave her the dagger, the night of her fifteenth birthday, the night when her life turned for the worst. The night they were killed.

"They would be proud of you,you know. Fighting for justice." Jody's head tilted up until they were face to face, the light from the moon were reflecting off her eyes making them a light blue, which wasn't as nice as the deep blue they usually were. Tears started in her eyes and one rolled down her cheek, "Tristan, I don't think anyone threw me in the forest." Tristan was confused, of course someone threw her, he saw it happen. she was lifted off her feet and threw to the ground so hard, it could have killed her. "I don't understand." It was true, he didn't, how else would it have happened.

"I think i did it." Her eyes were staring right into his now, he could see fear in them. Daniel interrupted them coming back from the far side of the castle. "I found a couple of guards standing on their own, couldn't one of you do your hand wavy thing and like..." he pulled his finger across his neck, Jody and Tristan looked to each other confused. "Why did you pull your finger across your neck?" Tristan asked standing up and dusting off his black jeans, which now had rips all over them, showing cuts on his tanned skin. He pulled a hand threw his golden hair and he and Jody watched as Daniel looked on at them as though they were the dumbest people in the world. "Are you kidding me?" They weren't why would they put their finger on there throat, that would not be useful. They shook their heads in unison. "Kill them, have you never seen that expression used before, where have you been living under a rock." They kind of had been, they lived in the shadows on the streets during the night, hiding. Since her fifteenth birthday, she has been running and then she found Tristan and the rest of the deserted and they took her under their wing but they never had a home there home was each other. "technically not a rock, but we don't get to hang out with people, other than each other that often." Tristan let out a irritated giggle.

Jody spoke up "we're not killing anyone but i can put the to sleep for a while." She was standing now, ready to fight, they only needed to pass through and out to Ffestiniog-- a small village on the out skirts of Aspen, from there they could get help, the deserted have a lot of contacts, not all of which you would want to make a deal with, but desperate situations call for desperate measures.
