Tristan had been gone for thirty minutes. It worried Jody. He was meant to be back ten minutes ago, with the costumes they needed and little to no wounds.

Jody's butt hurt from sitting on the wooden box for so long, her arms were strained and sore from holding them up to Daniels face. So far she had changed his eye colour from green to brown and his hair from blond to brown. She had pushed his cheek bones higher and pulled his nose back and pinched the top of it. He winced in pain when she poked him in the eye before. "Jody, you should have warned me before you stuck your finger in my eyeball."

"Sorry." She said her eyes steady and her mind concentrated if she didn't concentrate he could end up not having a nose.

"Why do you think he is taking so long? Aren't you worried?" Daniel asked closing his eyes when Jody moved on to his torso, he looked drain and before Jody started her make over he had dark bags under each eye.

"Of course I'm worried but the good thing is we haven't heard any gun shots and Tristan can take care of himself, so cheer up." Daniel didn't believe her and Jody wasn't sure she even believed herself.

Tristan walked out of the alley as casually as he could, his dark brown hair now gone was a deep red and his green eyes were ice blue, he caught a glimpse of himself in a shop window almost startling himself. He stood there for a moment looking at the boy in front of him, Tristan never wanted Jody to change his appearance mostly because she is exhausted and her powers are all over the place.

He walked to a clothes shops about three buildings down the street, the big double doors creaked as he pushed them open, the shop was full of people rushing around grabbing clothes from the rail as the passed by.

Almost naturally he ducked his head as he walked past, imaging everyone staring at him or calling guards to come and take him away, he forgot though that he was virtually unrecognisable. He walked towards the men's clothes most of which were tailed suits and waistcoats, there was a wall lined with ties of all colours and designs and a wall with bowler hats and top hats, he grabbed trousers, waistcoats, blazers, hats and ties and put them in a bag he grabbed off a stall outside the shop.

He went towards the shoes picking up two identical pairs, that looked big enough to fit both of them, now Jody's. He walked towards the women's clothes getting a few sceptical states from some women as he walked past the lingerie section, he grabbed the first dress he saw, imagining what Jody would look like in it. Then he grabbed a pair of silver shoes from her request as according to Jody 'silver shoes go with everything.'

He stuffed the shoes in the bag and made a B line for the door only to see a massive building of a man block his path. His voice boomed startling Tristan, " excuse me sir, you are going to pay for those, aren't you?" Tristan didn't look up he only clasped his hands together sending a storm cloud throughout the store washing everyone in water he ran as fast as he could trying to concentrate on the storm cloud in the shop. He got to the door and let the cloud disperse, letting out a little giggle from the sight of the shocked faces in the store.

Slowly he turned right down a side street he knew he could walk a full circle and get back to the top of the alley this way, hopefully avoiding anyone from the store.

                           *********
"I don't know how you do this." Daniel said thorough closed eyes, he was lying on his back now ontop of a smelly, dirty matress.

"What do you mean?" Jody was pacing back and forth, Tristan should be back. Something was wrong.

"How do you live like this? Hiding in alley ways always on the run." Daniel sat up now staring at her intently.

" It's not like I had a choice, my family kicked me out, I had no where to go. The deserted took me in, I owe them everything." Jody stopped and sat across from him her legs crossed under her.

"I get that but how are you so together, how are you not completely insane?" Daniel asked now, worried that he may have over stepped his boundaries, a noise sounded from the bottom of the alley, someone dropped something, they held their breath.

Both of them exhaled when Tristan stepped around the corner.

Jody looked to Tristan "who said we weren't insane?" She gave him a lopsided smile and ran to grab some of the clothes falling from Tristans grasp.

*********
Jody walked futher into the alley to change into the dress Tristan had brought her, it was a one shoulder floor length red dress with gems shaping the the edges outlining her hips and defining her figure. She put the silver heels on her blistered feet, her feet slipped in them because they were too big and she found it hard enough to walk in them when they did fit.

Jody had changed her own facial features using a piece of a broken mirror, Daniel had found her. She changed her dark long hair to a strawberry blonde and her hazel eyes were now a dark blue almost royal.

" Are you guys decent?" She asked before turning the corner.

"Yeah."

"Yep."

She turned to corner both of the boys looked up at her now both their mouths agape. Jody suddenly felt self conscious pulling her arms across her body hoping it would block her from view. They just kept staring.

Tristan broke the silence his eyes locking on to hers, "wow." Jody lips curled into a smile, in her head she was screaming she couldn't deal with people looking at her like that, with desire or love. She would never love anyone again because everyone she had ever loved cast her out for being herself.
