"Well this is a predicament." Recovery Girl said looking at Midoriya. "This quirk is a little more complex than I thought. It's actually still attacking his eyes. It's almost like the light is a bunch of little bots or needles that are latched onto the corneas. I can't think of a way to heal this quicker than the assault on his eyes is happening."
The building shook. Midoriya flinched at the sudden movement. All Might walked into the room, his fist clenched.
"Young Midoriya. I'm so sorry." He choked out. "I'm so sorry, my boy." Midoriya looked up toward his mentor's direction. Midoriya was speechless. He didn't have to see to know the pained expression that was masking his mentor's face.

Todoroki stopped outside the door of the infirmary, fist clenched, before jetting back down the hallway towards his classroom.

"I'd like to keep him today to run a few more tests. I should like to get a better grasp on what exactly is happening before I let him go back to class." Recovery Girl said. All Might put his hand on Midoriya's shoulder. Midoriya moved his head upward.
"We're going to figure this out and find a cure--"
"Couldn't Aizawa-sensei just erase the quirk?" Midoriya said hopefully.
"I don't think it works that way. Like I said, I'll keep you here to run a few more tests." Midoriya could hear something strange in Recovery Girl's voice.
He doesn't know that we've tried that. For some reason, nothing is working at the moment. Recovery Girl put her hand on her chin, contemplating silently. "Toshinori, a word."
All Might stepped aside with Recovery Girl. Midoriya sat on the bed, completely lost in thought. Yesterday he was a second year at Yuuei--a member of the hero class. He woke up normally, went to class as he always did, dealt with Kacchan's harassment, embraced Shouto's kindness, ate lunch with Iida and his classmates; today, he wasn't even sure if he could go back to class, much less school. How could he fight villains and pass his classes when he couldn't see? He'd only be a hindrance on everyone. He wasn't fit to work for Endeavor anymore. He can't become the new Symbol of Peace--
No! Midoriya snapped to attention, startling All Might and Recovery Girl. He put his feet on the ground, and ran out the door. He had been a student at Yuuei for two years now. He knew the halls of his school! He followed the scent of oil but he reached the Support Class wing. He didn't know what class she was in, though. He inhaled:
"HATSUME!! WHERE ARE YOU?!" All of the doors came flying open. He could hear the various rumblings of students walking out into the hallway. He closed his eyes and concentrated. He could feel the vibrations, the smell of metal being welded together, the sound of a blow torch and saw going simultaneously. He walked about 20 steps, the crowd of people parting before him, then turned left abruptly. He walked into a closed door. Rubbing his forehead with his left hand, he reached out with his right feeling for a doorknob.
"Hatsume! I know you're in there!" He yelled, opening up the door--
"Midoriya!" The door flew open, causing the green-haired boy to fall forward.
"Hatsume, come on!--"
"I heard! I heard! I was so inspired by your misfortune--"
"Gee, thanks--"
"--that I got to work right away! Your costume has already been modified with many of my babies! You take such good care of them and you're my number one customer! I made you something!" She said excitedly. "Get off the ground, Midoriya, I have to show you!" She grabbed him by the arm and pulled him forward.
Midoriya was always at a loss when it  came to Hatsume. She moved at her own pace, never letting up or taking a breath. He admired that about her. He allowed himself to be dragged along since he had no idea what her workshop looked like today. It could be exceedingly dangerous.
"Oh! Watch out for that!"
"Hatsume, you're aware I can't see anything, right? It's completely dark here." Midoriya said waving his free hand in front of his face.
"I was counting on that," Hatsume said in a scarily enthusiastic tone.
