A horde of press greeted Hardy and Jenny upon their arrival to the station. At the head of the pack, their phones shoved toward the car stood two of Hardy's worst nightmares, Karen White and Olly Stevens. For a split second, he contemplated telling Jenny to drive through the mass, damn the consequences. He spat, "Bollocks," out as he rolled the window and yelled,"Move away before I have you all arrested for interfering with a murder investigation."

"What was the condition of the bodies, were the women sexually assaulted?" yelled out Karen White.

"Who found the bodies? Why did the women come to Broadchurch? Were they meeting someone here?" Ollie pushed in and asked.

Another woman, Hardy did not know, screamed: "Had the women been in consenting sexual relationships with their killers until they were murdered?"

Hardy gave her the coldest/hardest look he could without stepping out of the car and slapping her.

"No Comment, now get out of the way, or I will arrest the lot of you," he said as he motioned Jenny forward.

Jenny had to run, to keep up with Hardy as he stormed up the stairs and into the squad room. "Lord, find out who that minging cow is and have her barred from the station and press updates."

Ellie ran out of her office, "The morning just started, what has set you off already?"

"If it was up to me, I would jail every journalist in this country as a public service, including your nephew."

"Yeah, I saw that plonker when I came in, I told the lot to move away from the station."

"They moved to the garage. I want a few uniforms to move them away and if they come within 200 ft of the station, arrest them." With that he stomped into his office, slamming the door.

Ellie rolled her eyes and though, I hate days that start this way. He's going to break that door if he keeps slamming it.

Hardy tossed his jacket on the coat tree then half collapsed into his chair, The day couldn't possibly get worse. He exhaled slowly then turned his attention to the computer and the CCTV footage from the road in front of the cottage. He heard a knock on the door and without looking up he motioned the person in.

The most recognizable voice in his life said, "Surprise, Dad!"

Opening and closing his mouth a couple of time before speaking.

"Daisy, what are you doing here, you should be in Glasgow at school?"

"I'm surprising you, Dad, I need to speak to you."

"Sweetheart, you can't be here now, you need to go back to school."

"No Dad! I told you, I have to speak to you. Something wonderful has come up and it can't wait. It's important Dad."

Jenny walked in the open door at that moment. "Sir, the name of that reporter is Caroline Hughes the Managing Editor of the Echo. Sorry Sir, didn't mean to interrupt."

"DC lord, my Daughter Daisy, who is supposed to be in Scotland."

Jenny stuck out her hand, "Call me Jenny, nice to meet you, I've heard a lot about you."

"Lord, back to work and shut the door."

"She seems nice." A sly smile tugged at Daisy's mouth, "And pretty."

Hardy's eyes narrowed, he waggled his finger at her, "Don't,"

Daisy came around the desk, wrapped her arms around his shoulders and kissed his hair."I could say I dropped by to make sure you are eating properly, but." She stepped back as he swiveled his chair toward her. "I have big news. Really big news."
