MIKEY'S POV
"I'm going to the mall after school with Kathleen." Jazmín said.
"Cool. I'll drive." I said.
"No, babe. Just her and I. We're getting our prom dresses." She said.
"So? I can get my tux while you two are at it." I said.
"I want my dress to be a surprise to you." She said.
"I'm not going to look." I said.
"Please, baby? It's Kathleen. She's my best friend." She said.
"Fine." I said.
"Thank you!" She said.
"Get something sexy." I said.
"No promises." She said.
I laughed.
That's the one thing I love about her.
Her sarcasm.
That's what makes you want to love her.
I drive to my house after school since Jazmín's going to be at the mall.
"Hi mom." I said going inside.
"Mikey! You're back already?" She asked.
"No. Jazmín's at the mall buying her prom dress with her best friend. I just thought I would stop in and say hello." I said.
"Oh well hello. You didn't want to go with them?" She asked.
"I did. But Jazmín said she wants her dress to be a surprise to me." I said.
"Well that's cute." She said.
"Yeah." I said.
Jade came downstairs.
"Hi Mikey." She said.
"Don't talk to me." I said.
"I'm really sorry about what happened to Jazmín. I didn't mean to take it that far." She said.
"Okay yeah." I said.
"I'm serious. Now can you please come home?" She asked.
"You have to realize I'm watching her because she almost died. I can't lose this girl, Jade." I said.
"You can bring her here. I actually like her." She said.
"Yippie! I get your approval!" I said sarcastically.
"She's changed you!" She yelled.
"Yeah. She changed me for the better. You should try spending time with her." I said.
