JAZMÍN'S POV
"How's everything with Mikey?" Kathleen asked me later in the day."Perfect. I couldn't ask for a better boyfriend." I said.
"Literally three years ago you hated his guts. Now you're sleeping with him." She said.
"Crazy how times and people change." I said.
"Are you going to be okay leaving him?" She asked.
"It obviously sucks because I'm all the way across the country, but I don't want to limit myself because of a guy." I said.
"Fair point." She said.
"I find it funny how once Mikey changed, Jade turned into him." She said.
"Wonder if the same thing is going to happen to her." I said.
"Possibly. Depends which mathlete she finds cute." She said.
I laughed.
Mikey came down by us.
"Come for a walk with me, Jazmín." He said.
"That's cool. I'll just flirt with the pool boy." Kathleen said.
"We won't be long." I said holding onto Mikey's arm.
"What's up?" I asked.
"Jazmín, you've given me so much to think about." He said.
"Like what?" I asked.
"Like my future. I don't want to go to college. I want to do music. But I have to go for my mom." He said.
"Have I influenced you in anyway?" I asked.
"A little bit. But I realized I can't be without you. I'm not the same person." He said.
"Aw Mikey." I said.
"That's why I'm jumping on a plane and coming with you." He said.
"To Stockton?" I asked.
"No. To a small community college twenty minutes away from Stockton." He said.
"Really?" I asked.
"Yes. You made me realize I'd do anything for you. Even crossing the country." He said.
"Mikey, that's amazing!" I said hugging him.
"I can lose every fucking thing. Except for you." He said.
