Someones Last Dance

Toni's pov

Once we get home from school Cheryl marches straight up to her room
"Hey where are you going I️ thought we were gonna watch a movie!"
"I️ have to get ready cha cha! Pick me up at seven!"
She shuts her door
What a dork
I️ spend the remains of the afternoon watching tv. At around five I️ shower and get ready. I️ put on my black suit and red heels and start to curl my hair. By six thirty I'm done so I️ leave the house to go get Cheryl and corsage and flowers. It's Seven by the time I️ get back so I️ knock on the door
"Your date is here!" I️ shout hoping she can some how hear me
"It's open"
I️ walk inside and see her standing on the steps
"You are breathtaking" I️ say with my mouth hanging open
"And you look beautiful" she says smiling at me
Our lips meet for a kiss. Not a super passionate cause I️ don't want to fuck up her lipstick, but a special one. Our first dance
A few seconds later there's a knock at the door
"Veronica, Reggie hi come in" I️ say
"Hi! Thanks for letting my parents come they always make such a fuss" Veronica says smiling as Hiram and Hermione walk in be hide her
I'm not going to say something to Hiram about his plans for the southside at this very moment, no because at this very moment. I️ am happy.
About thirty minutes later everyone is in the main living room taking photos
Betty and Archie, Kevin and Fangs, Veronica and Reggie, Cheryl and I️, and Sweetpea brought well, himself
Hiram and Hermione insisted on being there to take photos. Alice Cooper and Fred Andres were there as well. A bit awkward as Fred and the Lodges are standing on opposite sides of the room.
We take groups photos and couple photos and single photos. I️ would have never expected something like pictures to be so enjoyable.
A loud knock at the door over powers all of our talking and laughing
"I'll get I️t" Cheryl says smiling
A smile looks so good on her
She opens the door
"Jughead. Fp" she says
"Hey"
The two of them walk inside. Awkwardly waving to everyone
"Hey what are you guys doin here" sweetpea says walking over to them
"Well I️ realized I️ have to take pictures" Jughead says holding his camera "so I️ fixed myself and thought I'd come here"
Betty let's out a little smile
Jughead takes some photos with us too, and he's not happy that we make him pose with sweetpea, but he lives
Cheryl has gone on some rant with Veronica about a new vixens routine so I️ decide to take a seat
I️ pull out my phone to check my messages when Fp walks over to me
"Toni How has I️t been"
We haven't seen each other much lately with my move. I'm not sure if he even knew where I️ went or that I️ was dating Cheryl.
"Good. It's been good"
He looks around the room
"So you live here now"
"Yea. Kind of a plot twist I️ guess" I️ chuckle
"You always wanted a fairytale. You were obsessed with those books growing up"
"And how would you know"
"Come on. Your old man talked about you all he time years ago. Said you wanted to be Prince Charming for Halloween" he says laughing
The thought of my dad makes me feel just empty. I️ wish he never went to jail, I️ wish he made good choices.
"Yea well I️ guess it's ironic"
"So. Your dating Cheryl Blossom" Fp says
"Yea and why are you so happy about I️t" I️ say as I️ see him grinning
"I️ don't know. I️ just thought she was kind of closed off to love. After what we did to Jason I️ still don't forgive myself" he says looking down
"That destroyed her" I️ say trying to be firm because it's true
"I️ know. And she's strong. And I'm happy she's with you. You make a lovely pair" he says
"Thank you"

We talk and take about a million pictures when we see the clock hit eight
"We should head out" Reggie says
We begin to clean up some of the drinks and get ready to go when we hear the door knob rattle
It's loud
I️ take Cheryl's hand and everyone backs up back into the living room
The door flys open and a person in a black mask walks in.
Everyone immediately goes to panic, trying to shield there partners and friends.
They pulls out a gun from their pocket and aim I️t in the towards all of us
"All I️ got was Midge. Did you really think I was done yet?"
Failing the gun around likes it's a toy. Everyone seems to step deeper into the room. You think cause it's about 10+ against 1 That at always one of us would have something. No one has gun besides the person under the mask.
I️ see Hiram attempt to back into the kitchen. I️ suppose for a knife
As he walks backwards slowly the masked figure turns and points at him
"Don't move a muscle" they say pointing at Hiram
"So who's I️t going to be. We could go for anyone. Who's lucky day" they say laughing
What sick human is this. Threatening us with our own lives at stake.
Me hands in front of Cheryl. And I️ won't move I️t. My hearts beating so fast I️ can hear I️t. I️ can hear hers to. She's breathing heavy on the verge of a panic attack. I️ would do anything just to say something comforting to her right now.
"Someone's a little loud over there" They turns towards me a Cheryl
"Maybe I'll just have to shut you up" they say clocking the gun
"Don't you fucking dare" I️ say with all my courage
"You wanna stop me" they say back at me
Flailing the gun some more they pace around the room. Pointing every time they hear a breath.
The waiting game goes on for a minute or two. Everyone in the room is tense and a few are crying.
"What do you want" Jughead says finally breaking the silence
"Well there's a lot I️ want" they say "I'd like all of you dead. Some more then others. But I'll just be settling for one today"
They pace around the room looking at each one of us in the eyes.
"And I think I️t will be her. My favorite"
They point the gun at Betty
"NO"
"STOP"
I️t happens so fast but I️ can see Jughead and Archie move in front of Betty trying to shield her.
Yells and crys fill the air as blood pours out onto the floor. The black hood then shots the ceiling, making a chunk of I️t crumble and hit the floor, filling the air with dust.
I️ can't see who was shot. Until I️ hear Betty
"Jughead jughead" She repeats
Her hands trying to stop the blood leaving his body
The black hood pockets the gun and makes a run out the door
I️ chase after hoping to catch a glimpse of who they may be
All I️ see is them getting onto a motorcycle
One driven by someone in a serpents jacket
They drive away so fast it's no use trying to catch them
I️ go back into the house to see Veronica on the phone with 911
"Did you see who I️t was" Veronica's mother says
"No" I️ say. I️ don't want o tell them about the jacket. But I have too
"But they drove away with someone wearing a serpents jacket"
