2 weeks later
Ra'Quan
We were no closer to finding Quinton than we were 2 weeks ago. Where ever Diablo had him he was somewhere not even his boys knew where it was. By this point momma had found out her son was missing and as any mother would, she broke down in tears and immediately picked up the bible and said a few prayers. We have been doing our best as a family to make sure that she was always okay but she kept going on about how her karma has caught up to her. Since my momma used to be in a gang with my pops, she did a lot of things and seen a lot of things that she regrets to this day. So she feels this is God punishing her. We so far have already ran up on all Diablo's spots and took out most of his niggas looking for our brother. That surveillance tape that we thought we couldn't get we got. It had nothing that we didn't already suspect. The van was blacked out, no license plate, the windows were tinted pitch black. There was nothing useful. After that we had to go back to square one all over again and take a different approach.
"Hey bro, whatchu thinking over there?" Triana asked coming down the stairs in here pajamas and fuzzy slippers on looking like a little kid. I smirked and shook my head.
"Not a thing and everything. I'm trying to turn my brain off for an hour at least. I'm just tired and stressed out." I explained to her. She nodded her head in understanding and rested her head on my shoulder.
"I understand completely. I'm praying he's okay, or still alive at least. You just never know anymore the condition someone will be in when you find them. It's already been 2 going on 3 weeks." She sighed.
"Man, I don't even want to know how long it's been. Three weeks is way too long. He could be dead or worse, they could be torturing him." I responded shaking my head.
"Why don't we go back and talk to Joseph? There has to be something that he knows that can assist us." I rubbed my hands down my face. We already talked to him more times than I could remember. He probably had no new information, but it didn't hurt to try and find out. I nodded my head and got up off the couch.
"Go get dressed and be down in 5 minutes. We are both going to go see Joseph." I told her as I grabbed my car keys off of the kitchen counter. She did as she was told and she shortly after met me in my car where I was waiting and we sped off down the road.
We pulled up in front of the condo that we had Joseph in, making our way towards the elevator. I pushed the elevator going up and we waited for the doors to open. When it did we stepped in and Triana pushed the button for the top floor and we began our journey up. We were in a comfortable- ish silence until Triana broke it.
"What if we don't end up finding Quinton?" She whispered, staring off into space. I looked at her like she had lost her mind.
"You can't be thinking shit like that. The only way we are going to find him is if we stay positive. Don't let that negative shit cloud your brain and most definitely do not being that shit into my bubble" I warned circling the perimeter of my body with my hands so that she got the gist.
Triana
"It wasn't even like a negative thing. Well at least I didn't think it was. But you're right, I can't afford to start thinking like that." I swung my head back to rest on the elevator wall. Ra'Quan looked at me one final time before turning his head away. We rode the rest of the way in the elevator in complete silence, minus the little ding sound the elevator made every time we passed a floor. We finally reached the top floor and we exited the elevator and walked to the door that housed Joseph. I knocked softly on the door and we waited for it to open. The door opened and on the other end stood Joesph, looking like he just woke up, dressed in pajama bottoms and no shirt. He was a pretty muscular guy I thought to myself as he let us in.
