The next day Hebe woke up and found herself in her bed. She yawned, not remembering much of anything. She got up and shuffled out of her room and saw Arron sprawled out on his bed, still dressed in his regular clothes, not even bothering to use a blanket. His hands were over his eyes.
"Waaah, what a silly boy he is," grumbled Hebe to herself. "He'll catch a cold like this."
She walked over and thought she'd wake him up. So she tiptoed over and poked him in the shoulder.
"Wei," she said loudly. "You're going to be late for school!"
Arron just muttered in his sleep and rolled over to one side, close to the edge.
"This is what you get when you stay up so late, you pig," said Hebe, rolling her eyes.
She walked around to the other side of the bed and gave him a push. Whoa, was he heavy! He barely budged from his sleep.
"WAKE UP!" she shouted in his ear, but still Arron lay motionless, his mouth open wide.
Hebe straightened up, hands on hips and looked frustrated. He was either deaf or really knocked out or had a lot of earwax in his ear. Take your pick.
She glanced at her watch. School starts in twenty minutes. He should at least have time to get ready and eat breakfast at the dining hall....wait, why was she so worried for him?
It should serve him right if he's late, Hebe decided, and so she turned to head into the bathroom. Then she froze before she could even step inside.
Arron was her partner after all. She'd be responsible for him anyway! What a pain!
So Hebe sighed, and walked back over to the bed once more.
Then she started to push his back and say,"Wake up, wake up, wake up!"
At that moment Arron decided to scoot even more over to the side, but since he was already at the edge of his bed, he fell off onto the floor!
"OWWW!"
Hebe gasped. "Oh my gosh! Are you all right?!"
She ran around to the other side and peered down at Arron, sitting up on the cold hard floor, wincing and rubbing his head.
"Ughhhhh, that really hurts," he mumbled, rubbing his arm.
Hebe sat down next to him and rubbed his arm for him. Arron looked up at her, puzzled.
"It's okay, you don't have to....I just fell off by myself," he said.
"Well.....I kinda pushed you......but you wouldn't wake up!" she scolded.
Arron smiled.
"Now go get ready for school," ordered Hebe, standing up.
Arron stood up, stretched and said,"Why're you so worried for me?" with a wide grin.
"Y-You?" Hebe almost shrieked. "Who said I'm worried about you?? More like worried about my responsibility for you!"
"Then why are you blushing?" Arron said, reaching out to touch Hebe's cheek. She backed off.
"Ugh, don't touch me, pervert!" she fumed. "Just go away!" She stormed into the bathroom.
Arron started to get out new clothes for the day ahead. Man, he was starting to like Hebe more and more. Was he possibly having a crush on her? If so, that wouldn't be so bad.
But she still seemed to dislike him, even if her attitude toward him had softened up a little.
Arron smiled again, looking down at their textbooks and homework scattered on the small table. At this rate, soon she would come to like him. In fact, things were starting to improve, slowly but surely.
All he needed to do was continue to give Hebe little pushes in the right direction.
