Later that night, Arron got back into his dorm room and looked around him as he quietly shut the door. Hebe's door was closed, so he assumed she must be asleep.
Well, not Arron. He was tired of having people tell them to shut up, and he was tired of theater workers coming over to kick them out.
"Aww, your movies stink anyway," Jiro had grumbled as they left the movie with the audience glaring at them. Arron said nothing much, but he could feel the intensity of their glares behind their backs.
It was around 10 pm when they decided to head back to the dorms, despite Calvin's argument that 10 pm is way too early to go to bed.
So here Arron was, nervously looking around the silent dorm room, leaning against the door.
"Hebe?" he said aloud.
There was silence, but Arron could have sworn that he heard shuffling in Hebe's little room. Then he got an idea.
"HEBE HEBE HEBE!" Arron yelled.
"What? What happened? Something wrong?" Hebe burst out of her room in a flash, looking all around.
Arron saw that she looked worried for a moment and secretly hid a grin; so Hebe was a caring person after all.
"You called me out here for nothing?" Hebe said, looking irritated.
"Nah, I just wanted to see if you were here," said Arron teasingly.
"You didn't need to shout," Hebe said, though her face turned slightly pink.
Hm? Arron thought. She's blushing. How cute!!
Hebe then flounced back into her room and slammed her door shut. There was a clicking sound as she locked it.
Arron stood there, a smile slowly spreading across his face.
Hebe seemed to hate him, but maybe this wasn't a bad thing at all. After all, he thought he was beginning to enjoy having Hebe around.
Maybe he could make her like him! Yeah, that was a good idea. It would fun to do.
Arron got ready for bed. Then he lay in bed, thinking about all his plans with a huge grin on his face and staring blissfully at the ceiling before he fell asleep.
---------------------------------
The next morning, Hebe woke up to sunlight pouring into her room. She looked at her clock on the wall. It was 7:26. School would start at 9:00 am, so no worries about being late. She slid out of bed, yawning and walked out her room.
Hebe walked out into the main room and saw Arron sleeping on his bed, his covers pushed away and his arms behind his bed, eyes closed.
Despite Hebe's annoyance with him, she thought that he actually did look cute, handsome even.
She was standing there staring, then she realized what she was doing and shook her head vigorously. No, Hebe! she told herself silently. I don't like people like him. Snobbish popular kids like him who look down on everyone else. So annoying!
She began walking across the room to the bathroom.
Then she heard Arron mumbling in his sleep, just as she was stepping into the bathroom.
"Hebe...you're so.....pretty......" he said faintly.
"What?" Hebe spun around and looked at him, but he was still sleeping away, it looked like.
She didn't know that Arron was pretending to be asleep. He was actually awake and he knew definitely what he was saying.
Hebe began blushing. That jerk, how dare he say that? she thought to herself. He's just lying, all right.
But then again Arron started up louder, saying,"Hebe......I really like you......a lot......."
If only Arron could open his eyes, He wanted to see how cute she looked like. She must have looked so surprised.
"Shut up, shut up," Hebe whispered, thinking Arron was still asleep. She was creeped out by his sleep talk.
Arron couldn't resist adding,"Hebe.........will.........you go out.........with me?" His eyes were still shut, but he had a faint smile.
"No way!" Hebe said loudly, so that Arron gave a pretended jerk, and sat up quickly, pretending to have woken up.
"Hmm?" he yawned. "Man.....what a great sleep I had......oh?" He saw Hebe standing there near the bathroom, looking at him, twisting her towel in her hands. "Why are you standing there looking at me?"
"You--you were talking about me in your sleep!" sputtered Hebe angrily, though her cheeks were still tinged pink.
So adorable! thought Arron. He was beginning to like her a lot.
"What?" said Arron, in a mocking tone. "I don't talk in my sleep. You're crazy."
"You sure did!" Hebe walked over and put her hands on her hips. "You said a bunch of stuff about me!"
Arron pretended to be lost. "I'm sorry, but what in the world would I ever say about you?"
"You said I was pretty, and...and you like me...and...y-you wanted to..." Hebe was now blushing more than ever.
"Wanted what?" asked Arron, frowning, but inside he was thinking, how fun she is to mess with!
"Go out with me!" Hebe shouted, then covered her face with her hands, so embarrassed.
"Huh? Really, I said that?" Arron smiled. "Hmm. It's true that you're very pretty, but you obviously have some hatred for me, so why would I want to go out with you?"
That made Hebe mad. "You jerk!" she yelled, then covered her mouth, realizing she was too loud and that she might wake other dorm residents.
Arron started rolling around on his bed, laughing like crazy. Hebe was way too fun and way too cute!
"Hahaha, but I know what you said, jerk, and I don't find it funny!" Hebe poked him in the arm and then stormed off into the bathroom and slammed the door.
Arron stopped rolling around with laughter and sat up on his bed, grinning. He was going to enjoy every moment with Hebe.
Heck, what did it matter if she was a girl who hated him?
Soon he would change all that.
-------------------------
Meanwhile in the bathroom, Hebe was still fuming, looking at herself in the mirror.
That jerk, she thought over and over. That jerk!
But yet she looked in the mirror and felt her anger disappear.
He had said he liked her. Even if it was sleep talk, she decided that she was still mad at Arron, but in her heart she forgave him.
