Chapter 21 : Stand up

"Sometimes it's hard standing up for yourself but if you don't, you're simply allowing people to walk all over you even further.

You're basically giving them permission to. They already don't care about your feelings by treating you like crap, but you not putting an end to it makes it worse. You're making them not care about your feelings even more. You're simply telling them
"It's okay. Do what you want."

And you're lying if you say you don't care. You're lying if you're saying it doesn't hurt you. I'm sure it does. Deep down inside.

So if you're the one who's getting bullied, stand up for yourself. And if you're the bully, all I can say is, what's wrong with you? Why are you bullying someone? Why are you wasting your energy on making someone's life hell? Why not take that effort into spreading positivity?

It takes a million compliments to build someone's confidence up, but it takes one small comment to bring it all crashing down.

So stand up for yourself. Speak up. Be prouder. You are a somebody. Thank you." Emily finished off her oral and everybody started clapping their hands.

"Well done Emily. That was amazing." Emily's English teacher said smiling and marking her.

Then the bell rang signalling the end of the day. Emily was on her way walking home when she felt something almost controlling her body and she didn't know what it was.
