Chapter 7

(Still Jane's POV)
"Just be careful, alright? I cant loose you again." Mike says, crying. He grabs my hand and places it in his.
I shake my head. "You won't loose me."
"Do you promise?"
"Promise." We lock eyes. I start to lean in and he does too but...
"El! Y/N! LETS GO!" I turn around to Hopper getting into the truck. I look over at y/n as she is still standing in the driveway with her back toward us. I hope she's okay. She turns and wipes more tears off of her cheeks and climbs in the back seat of Hoppers truck. I take the front. I give Mike one last look as we drive away. They all stand there, my friends; on the porch and Mike has tears in his eyes as I glance back.

Y/n and I look out the windows. I've been trying to avoid eye contact with Hopper all night.
"So we're just not gunna talk about it, huh?"
"About what." I say with no emotion.
"Oh I don't know. I'm just curious about why all of a sudden you look like some kind of MTV punk and your sister showed up."
"I saw Mama." Then Hopper started kind of freaked out. I looked back to see y/n looking out the window and chuckling.
"Look, Hopper. I shouldn't have left, but Mama told me about y/n. I had to see her. She was my only family at the time."
"I know, I know. I should have been there. And I'm sorry. I shouldn't have lied to you. There's a lot of things I shouldn't have done. Sometimes I fell like I'm just.. a black hole or something." He sighs. Y/n puts her hand on his shoulder.
"Black hole?" She asks.
"Yeah. Yeah its this thing in outer space that sucks up everything and destroys it." Then he brought up about how a 'Sarah' had a book about outer space and how she loved it.
"Who's Sarah?" I asked. Hopper looked at me.
"Sarah's my girl. She's my little girl." I was confused.
"Where is she?" Y/n asked. She must have been too.
"Well you know, thats kind of the thing. She uh.. well she left us." I look forward and y/n does as well.
"Gone." Says y/n.
"Yeah. The black hole. It got her. And somehow, I've just been scared, ya know? I've just been scared that it would take you, too." He glanced at me trying not to take his eyes off the road. "I think thats why I get.. so mad. I'm so sorry. For everything. I could be so... so.."
"Stupid." I finish.
"Yeah." He says with a chuckle. "Stupid."
Y/n chuckles a little bit too. She sits forward and grabs his hand. I do too and we squeeze each others hands.
"I've been stupid too." I say.
"Well yeah. But I don't hate it. This.. this whole look." I smile. "Its kinda cool."
Y/n's eyes meet mine and we say it together.
"Bitchin'." We smile at each other. Hopper similes too.
"Um. Okay..." He looks at us both and smiles.
"Bitchin'." We all chuckle and y/n sqeezes once more our hands for the whole ride. All the way to the place that started this whole thing. The lab.

Y/n's POV::
I tell Hopper about all of my powers and catch him up on everything. We share some good laughs, but are reminded of what lies ahead. Hopper parks the car in the labs empty parking lot.
"Just wait for a minute?" I say. Jane tells Hopper that I'm just "checking in" on someone. She knows that's not the case. She knows I want to see him. To see Will.  Hopper nods.
Darkness. Darkness surrounds me as I turn around to find the inside of Hopper's small cabin. Will lays on a bed, strapped down with heaters surrounding him. Joyce, Jonathan, and Nancy surround Will. I come up to Will on his left and they all look down from his right. I start breathing heavily.
"Are you sure this is a good idea?" Jonathan says worried and shaking. Joyce looks down at her son.
"This thing has had Will long enough." I try to hold back tears. "Let's kill the son of a bitch."
Nancy lights a match as I break down to the ground. This monster better not kill this innocent boy. Not on my watch. She throws the match in the fire and Jonathan turns all the heaters on high. I try to grab Will, but his picture starts to fade. I yell and call for his name. Then I snap back into reality.
Jane's POV::
Hopper and I sit in the car and just wait in silence. Soon, y/n starts whispering. She whispers Will's name. I know she's in the Darkness with Will.
"I don't know, El..." Hopper says to me. "Are you sure she's alright? I mean, back at the house she said she was the first to open the portal and we can all tell she has some... some certain... connection to it. Can we really trust her?" He must have noticed the bond between her and Will too.
"Yes. She is my sister. Family." I turn around and y/n's eyes shoot open.
"I'm ready." She says.
