Changes (Chapter twenty-one)

Even though I told Jason it was the end I still went to hearing to see what the judge was going to do. She sentences him six years in jail since he was the head of it all. I couldn't believe it I started to cry in the court room I got a chance to say good bye.
"Jason I'm so sorry." I wrapped my arms around his neck he couldn't really huge back since the cuffs.
"Shhh I'm going to be fine Ava okay? Don't worry about me I will be good in there."
Nathan un cuffed him so he could hug me one last time.
"Please take care of yourself Jason okay? I will try to visit."
"No Ava I did some thinking and you need to go to college find a GOOD man and forget about me okay? I'm not good for you I will only bring you down and I can't hurt you anymore."
"Jason don't do this to me."
"Ava you will thank me one day."
He kissed me he tried to pull away but I grabbed ahold of his orange suit and pressed my lips to his more. After a few minutes I pulled away.
"I love you Jason. You were my first love and I will never forget you."
"I love you too Ava and I will always remember you as my first love I just wish I could have been there for you."
"It's time Jason." Nathan cuffed him back up and I kissed him one last time and watched as Nathan took him through the big doors that made sure me and Jason never saw each other again.

I walked across the street to a little restaurant even though I wasn't that hungry I needed to at least try to get him off my mind. I was stirring my coffee when someone was standing by my table. I looked up and saw Nathan.
"Care for my company?"
"I would love it." He slid into the booth across from me.
"I'm sorry you had to go through that today?"
"It's okay... been through a lot worse."
"I know and I remember the happy you I want that back Ava."
"Me too Nathan.. me too." He reached over and grabbed my hand.
"I know I'm not much but I would love to help you out." I smiled at him.
"Nathan I really appreciate it a lot."
"Need a place to stay?"
"Actually yes I do."
"Well you're in luck because I need a roommate." I let out a small laugh and looked down then back up at him.
"Come on let's get you settled in."
"Thanks."

It has been over six months living with Nathan and we have become very close but the only thing is I'm pregnant with Jason's little girl.
"Ava I think we need a bigger place babe."
I looked up at Nathan since I was sitting on the floor going through all of Kolby's clothes and everything.
"I know we do but-"
"No buts angel I just got that promotion and you just got that new job as a realtor and it seems to be going well Ava." he helped me up off the floor and wrapped his arms around me and mine around his neck.
"Ava ever since we were little I always treated to different than the rest, you were always my partner in crime for everything and now that I get to call you mine it the best thing that has ever happened to me. Even though Kolby isn't my little girl I want to treat her like she is... that is if you let me?"
I smiled up at him and kissed his lips.
"Oh Nathan I would love if she called you daddy but what about Jason?"
"Ava he's in jail and won't be out for awhile an he told you to forget about him."
"Yeah you're right.... so I guess it's okay right?"
"Right." he leaned down and kissed me softly I felt her kick we pulled away and I took Nathan's hand so he could feel.
Maybe this was my new start?

-Nathan's POV-
"Yeah she's seven months along and we are thinking about getting a bigger place since I just got a promotion and she got a great realtor job." I was talking to John and Kevin my two close friends who I work with we were at the jail today outside watching the inmates.
"Awe Nat we're so happy for you it sounds like everything is going good."
"It is and even though Kolby isn't mine she said it would be alright if I raised her as mine. I think thi is it guys I have my family." I smiled at them Kevin placed his hand on my shoulder.
"Nathan that's awesome and that's great man your guys dad's were so close and just having you guys together now is jug amazing. I know her dad would love having you apart of his family."
"Yeah he was a great guy. And now that I think about it he left his house and everything to her."
"What? And you aren't living there now?"
"No because I think it would be to hard on her."
"True but I think she will be okay."
"Maybe if we rented it out that way she doesn't have to get rid of it. I have a house in mind." I pulled out my phone and showed them a huge house it has 6 beds and 5 baths a huge backyard fenced in a pool and an area where you could grill out.
"Man she will love it."
"You think?"
"Yes! dude it's prefect and speak of the devil here she comes." we turned around and saw a beautiful Ava walking over wearing a maxi skirt and a regular v neck and scarf nobody messed with her since they know who she was.
"Hey baby." he hugged me and kissed me I wrapped one around around her.
"Hey Kev and John! how are you?"
"We are prefect how are you!"
"Pregnant." we all laughed we moved where is was a bit safer for her behind the gate since we were off duty we were all walking out to go to lunch I looked over in the fence and could see Jason looking over at us he then looked at Ava and down at her stomach I looked away from him and slipped my arm around her and pulled her close. He wasn't going to ruin this for me.
