It was Friday and the date had been on my mind. Nathan hadn’t called me about the specific day and time for the date. He did however called me to make sure that I went to bed early. It was very nice of him to care about me.

I hadn’t dreamt about the little boy.

Hopefully, he would tell me about the date today.

“How was your lunch date with Nathan?” he asked with a smirk on his face. “How did you know? It wasn’t a date. He just wanted some company,” I told him truthfully. “Sure…he wanted company. He told me the same thing but, I don’t believe it,” he said .

{He asked Nathan too.} “I’m telling the truth,” I told him.

“It’s true.”

I looked up to see Nathan and let out a deep breath. {My hero.} Nathan took his seat and looked at me. “Hi Anna,” he said. “Hi Nathan. How are you?” I asked him. He looked alot better from Wednesday.

“I’m much better. Thank you for asking,” he said and looked at Alex. “Are you asking her about what you called a lunch date?” he asked. “Of course. I’m like a big brother to Anna considering that her brother is a jerk,” Alex said.

It was true. Alex was like a big brother…by a few months anyway. He would check on me at times to make sure that I was doing alright. On holidays breaks, he would invite me to spend time with him and his family.

“I see. Well, I just wanted us to get to know each other and have someone to eat with me. It wasn’t a date,” he told him. Alex raised an eyebrow and nodded his head. “Whatever you say Nathan.”

Still, Alex didn’t seemed too convinced by Nathan’s answer. He turned his attention to his notebook.

Professor Bartholomew entered the classroom with his bag.

Nathan looked at me with a smile. “Lets talk after class,” he told me. I gave him a smile and turned my attention to the front of the class.

{He is going to talk about the date. I’m sure.}

“I’m going home and get dressed for running.”

Alex walked ahead of us. “Where are you planning to run today?” Nathan asked him. “I’m going to run around Lake Merced,” he told him. {Around Lake Merced?} Lake Merced was located across the street from Mary Park Hall, a dormitory near campus.

“That is going to be a long run,” I told him. Alex gave me a smirk. “I know and I’m going to like the run,” he said and started to walk away from Nathan and I. “I’ll see you guys next week,” he said and started to run.

I let out a sigh. {It’s just like him to get in shape.}

“Anna.”

I turned my head to Nathan. “Yes Nathan?” “Mind if I walked you to your dorm?” he asked. I gave him a nod. We walked around Caesar Chavez building and towards Creative Arts building.  “I’ll pick you up tomorrow at 10:00 am,” he told me.

Soon, we were in front of my dorm. “Where are we going?” I asked him curiously as I unlocked the door. Once I opened the door, I looked up at him. He gave me a smile. “It’s a surprise. Dress warm,” he told me.

{A surprise huh?}

“Okay. I’ll see you tomorrow,” I told him. He gave me a nod. “Take care of yourself until then because I’ll be taking care of you,” he told me. A smile grew on my face. “Okay. Bye,” I said and walked into my door.
