Chapter 3: Saying Goodbye to Daniel

"What the hell?"
"Who's at the door Grayson?"
"No one. I'm just confused about something."
"What are you confused about?"
I closed the door, closed my eyes, and took a deep breath before turning around to come face to face with my brother.
"How did you get your jewellery back?"
"Whoever rang our doorbell left a note and placed my jewellery in our mailbox. If it wasn't for the note, we would've been driving ourselves crazy looking for the jewellery Daniel bought for me."
"Maybe someone witnessed the murder, caught whoever knocked you out, waited for you to be discharged from the hospital and then while waiting for the right moment they wrote the note, placed your jewellery in our mailbox and then played ding dong ditch."
"It's a possibility, but unlikely."
"Why's that?"
"Not only was the gunshot silenced, but there were no houses or anyone near us during Daniel's proposal."
"How do you know?"
"Because I was aware of my surroundings the entire time."
"So how did you not notice the killer?"
"Because they must've been a fair distance away. Now, are we done here? Because I want some time alone."
"I understand. I'm sorry for your loss Grayson."
"He was your friend too Chandler, he wasn't just mine."
"I know, but he spent more time with you then he did with me."
"What if Daniel isn't really in love with me? What if he's still trying to prove that he's sorry for everything that's happened to me while we were friends?"
"Daniel wouldn't use you, he loves you waaay too much"
"I know. But for all I know Daniel is completely fine and staged the entire thing."
"Why would he do something like that?"
"I don't know. I'm just going through a phase and just can't believe that Daniel's dead."
"Do you think you have enough strength to say goodbye to him today?"
"I guess we'll find out, but until then I'm just going to be in my room thinking about all the good times I had with Daniel."
"Ok, if you need anything just let me know all right?"
"I will, don't worry."
"I love you Grayson."
"I love you too Chandler."
"Remember, if you need anything just let me know."
"I will."

3 hours later...
"Well, here we are. Daniel's grave is just up ahead."
"Would you like some company while saying your final goodbyes?"
"I'll be fine mom. Just give me at least ten minutes to say goodbye."
"Ok. We'll be right here if you need us."

A/N: While Grayson is saying his final goodbye to Daniel I've decided to bring him back so Grayson can actually say goodbye to Daniel face to face. And Grayson will be the only one who can see Daniel.  This resurrection WON'T BE PERMANENT. Now back to the story.

I took a few deep breaths to calm myself down and then made my way to Daniel's final resting place. As I was approaching Daniel's grave I thought I was going crazy because there he was standing next to his grave.
"Hey Daniel."
Daniel didn't respond, he just continued to smile and look at me.
"So it's true, you're really dead...aren't you."
Daniel just nodded.
"All the pain we've endured and a sniper bullet kills you? Hell you lost a few body parts in the war and you still survived."
"Plus I was distracted, after all I was proposing to you. So it's not my fault I'm dead. Both of us were distracted. Now my question is, why do you get to live?"
"I've been asking myself that same question ever since you died, and I know that what's dead should stay dead, but I'm going to find a way to revive you."
"This isn't SUPERNATURAL, so NO DEMON DEALS!"
"I wasn't going to make one anyway."
"Typical Sam."
"Jerk."
"Bitch."
"Well, you already know why I'm here but I'll say it anyway."
"Let me guess, you want to say that you love me, that you miss me more than I can imagine, that there's not a day that goes by that you don't think about me, you also want to thank me for saving your life, and you want to thank me for all the great memories we made together."
"You took the words right out of my mouth."
"I love you Grayson and remember that if you're ever feeling lonely..."
"I know Daniel, I know."
"Tell the others and my children exactly what you were going to say to me, just leave out the "saved your life" part."
"I will. Rest in peace Daniel."
"I'll be your personal guardian angel Grayson."
"I love you Daniel."
"I love you too Grayson."
Right after that Daniel disappeared and I returned to my family.
"You shouldn't hold in your feelings Grayson."
"It may look like I am, but I'm not holding them in Chandler. I'm perfectly fine. Oh and Daniel told me to tell you three that he loves you, that he misses you more than you can imagine, and he wants to thank us for all the great memories he made with us."
"Well he's very welcome." My mom states.
"Come on, let's head home so Daniel and everyone else can rest in peace."

25 minutes later...
"How're you feeling Grayson?"
"I'm still depressed that Daniel is dead and I don't think that I'll ever get over it, but other than that I'm feeling pretty good."
"I know how you feel. Losing a friend is never easy, especially one like Daniel. He saved your life and not just once. And you also saved his. You even got him to stop cutting."
"I just did what I thought was right."
"No you didn't. You KNEW it wasn't right and you saved Daniel's life. I'm sure that he's forever grateful."
"I'm sure he was. He was an amazing person and an amazing friend...I miss him."
"We all do."
"Hey Chandler?"
"Yeah?"
"Thanks for being the best brother you can possibly be."
"You're welcome. I love you Grayson."
"I love you too Chandler."
Chandler and I hugged for a few minutes before we let go of each other.
"See you in the morning Grayson."

8:45 a.m.
"How do I look?"
"Do you want me to answer as Daniel or as myself?"
"I already know what Danny boy would say, so just answer as yourself Chandler."
"Danny boy?"
"You got a problem with my nickname for Daniel?"
"I just think it's weird that you added the word "boy" to his nickname, that's all. In my opinion you should just call him Danny."
"Anyway, how do I look?"
"You look perfect."

A/N: For those of you wondering if Grayson and Chandler are going to become a couple, they aren't. Sorry to disappoint you all, I guess you'll have to wait for the third installment to come out, which will be titled "The Abusive Relationship" and no Grayson's relationship with his brother isn't going to be abusive, but Daniel's new relationship will be.

"So is there a reason why you dressed up?"
"I decided to go to church, so I can tell everyone what I'm going through and so they can pray for me."
"So then why are you taking three suitcases with you?"
"Because after I'm done at church I'm going on a hunt....a hunt to find the jewelry that I bought for Daniel."
"You do realize that if you do find the jewelry you bought him, it won't bring him back."
"I know. I just thought that he'd like to be buried with his anniversary presents."
"That's nice of you, but how are you going to place them in Daniel's grave? Digging him up would take too long."
"I'll just tell the personnel in the funeral home that they left a few valuables out of Daniel's coffin. Because not only do I plan on finding Daniel's anniversary gifts....but I plan on bringing him back with them."
