We didn't really do much for the rest of the day and the next day we were allowed to go shopping. Braxton had given me his credit card and told me to buy whatever I wanted. I didn't feel right spending his money. I had my own money to buy things with. I know what you're thinking.
How will he know if I used it or not? He told Kailey to make sure that anything I buy goes on the credit card."Come let's go in here." Melanie said.
All three of the girls had been dragging me to maternity shops.
"Come on guys I'm ready to go." I said.
"Not until you buy something." Kailey said.
"Kailey I don't want to."
"Well then we're not leaving."
Braxton is so getting it when I go back. I walked over to an aisle with cute baby blankets on it. I'll buy them both a blanket. I picked out two blue ones. One had a soccer ball on it and the other one had a football on it.
"Alright let's go." I said.
I paid for the blankets with Braxton's credit card and we left.
"So what did you buy?" Lexi asked.
I pulled out the blankets and showed them.
"These are cute." Melanie said.
"So are you going to have their names embroidered on it?" Lexi asked.
"Yea."
"So have you guys picked out any names yet?" Kailey asked.
"No."
"You only have five more months before they're born. You do realize that right?" Melanie said.
"Yes. I realize that."
When we got back to the beach I went straight to our cabin to pick up the blankets.
****
"So what did you buy?" Braxton asked.
He and I were sitting on the sidelines of a volleyball match. No one was paying attention to us.
"Two blankets for the boys." I said.
"Did you use the card?" he asked.
"Yes."
"Good."
I could tell that he wanted to kiss me, but didn't because we were too close to the students. This was torture.
"That was out." Melanie said.
"No it wasn't." another girl said.
"Mr. Martino what's the judgement?"
"It was out." I said.
Braxton was supposed to be judging the volleyball match, but he was paying a little too much attention to me. Melanie smiled and turned her attention back to the game.
"Pay attention judge." I whispered to Braxton.
"I can't help but get distracted with my beautiful girlfriend sitting next to me." he whispered.
"Well try to."
The volleyball match went on for a while and honestly I don't remember who won.
"Braxton our sons are hungry." I said when we were alone.
"I'll go get you something to eat." Braxton said getting up.
When he left Vince walked over to me.
"Hey Vince." I said.
"Hi Phoebe." he said.
"Is there something you wanted to say?"
"Yeah. I think Kyle's obsessed with you. He said he has feelings for you. I just wanted you to know so you'd be on the lookout."
"Thanks."
"No problem."
He left and Braxton came back with my food.
"What was that about?" Braxton asked.
"O. Vince just wanted me to careful around Kyle." I said.
"Why?"
"Apparently Kyle has feelings for me."
We really didn't need anymore drama in our life right now. Dealing with Alvin was enough. He hadn't called or texted in awhile. I don't know if that was a bad thing or a good thing.
"How do you feel?" Braxton asked.
"Okay." I said.
"I love you." he said giving me a quick peck on the lips.
"I love you too."
I wish we were alone. I wanted more than a quick peck from him.
"Phoebe come on." Melanie said coming out of nowhere.
"Where?" I asked.
"You'll see just come on."
She pulled me up out my seat and dragged me along the beach.
"He's over there." Lexi said.
"Who?" I asked.
"Kyle." Melanie said.
"Guys what are..."
"Just give him a chance he really likes you."
"I can't."
"Why not?" Lexi asked confused.
"It's complicated."
"Just give him a chance." Melanie said.
I sighed. I knew that the only way out of this was to go along with what they wanted.
"I'll go talk to him, but that's it." I said.
"Ok." Melanie said.
I walked over to where Kyle was.
"Hi." I said.
"Hey Phoebe." he said.
We were quiet for awhile.
"Phoebe I'm sorry for acting like a jerk and doing anything else that offended you." he said.
"Kyle there can never be an us. I'm pregnant and the only thing I want to do is focus on my kids. I accept your apology but leave me alone. Please just save whatever shred of dignity you have left by leaving me alone." I said.
Then I walked off.
