Chapter 13

Jessica's POV

It's been a few months since my birthday and alot has happened since then. I think you need a little fast-foward even though my life isn't that important. Jake and I just stayed friends after I confronted him about the text with Madison & all the bullshit. Yes he's one of my best friends and i love him deeply but I know where my hearts at and that's with Luke Brooks. Jai and Jenna sorta drifted apart and now he's back with Ariana Grande, which I'm stoked but i dunno. Sadly James & Veronica aren't a couple but Skip and Beau are avaible. So ladies, 3/5 of the Janoskians are FREE! Austin is actually with my friend Allison and thats where I come in now. I've recently been diagnosed with cancer and have been avoiding telling anyone but Jenna & Allison.

Jenna & I mainly hang out since we own a flat on Miami beach, far from Austin but not a long drive from his place when he's in Florida. It was a rainy summer day in Miami, Jenna was watching Orange is the New Black when I got a text from Allison.

From: Allison ✌

Jess, Austin's ... well he's going stir crazy with the tour and everything. He wants to know where you are. what do I tell him?

To: Allison ✌

Tell him.. I went on a 7 day trip to Jersey to see my grandpa.

I sighed and rested my head in Jenna's lap. She just shook her head and giggled. I hate lying to everyone but I don't want some pitty party and everyone waiting on my hand and feet, And I don't want anyone to worry about me, I'm 18 damnit! The only person I really wish I could talk about this to was Jake and Luke but they hate each other. So I made a bold move and went through my contacts to someone I know won't say anything. I walked out to the porch that leads to the ocean and hit talk. It rang for a little bit then picked up.

"Hello?" Zach asked

I took a deep breath,"Zach are you alone?"

I heard some shuffling,"I am now, what's going on?"

"I- I need you to promise me you won't say what I'm about to tell you to anyone," I explained

"I promise Jess, what's wrong?"

I bit my lip,"Zach I have cancer. You, Jenna, & Allison are the only three who know."

I head sniffling," You need to tell the guys, when can I see you?"

I exhaled,"You're on tour with Austin, I'm home being taken care of, just visit whenever but if the boys ask, I'm in Jersey."

"Okay Jess, ill be there soon as I can"

The line went dead. I started to tear up and walk back to the house. When I got to the sliding glass door I starting bawling and ran inside to Jenna's arms. She rubbed my back and calmed me down and handed me the tissue box on the coffee table. I must have had eyeliner smudges because she was fixing my cheeks.

"Jess what happened that made you this upset?" Jenna said

I coughed,"I t-told Zach."

She smiled," that took a lot of courage and I'm proud of you."

"He's gonna fly here for a few days to visit me."

Jenna threw her hands up,"that's wonderful!"

I grabbed a spoon and the jar of Nutella I left out the night before and dove right in. Jenna was right about Zach visiting but I have a weird feeling about him coming to town, I don't know why but I do.
