My heart skipped a beat. My mouth dropped open. I closed it trying to find something to say. I turned to Derek.

"Did you know?" Derek nodded. I could feel my muscles twitching. I ran out the door and into the forest. Before I could take my clothes off the first wave of convulsions hit. I fell to the ground in pain. Get it under control, Clara. Get it under control. I looked up and saw Derek. I seen him place a pile of clothes by a bush. I started to reverse my transformation, I knew he could tell that. The last wave of convulsions were the worst. I screamed. My fingers wrapped around dirt and grass. When the convulsions ended I was exhausted. I lay there in the dirt covered with sweat and mud. I felt Derek's gaze on me. I realized I wasn't wearing clothes. He turned around.

"Sorry." He muttered. I quickly got dressed. I laid down and fell asleep.

When I woke Derek was sleeping beside me. He was close enough to touch, but far enough away to tell me he didn't try anything. It was still dark so I just laid there shivering. Derek moved and pulled me towards him. So he is not as asleep as it thought he was.

"Your shivering." We just laid there like that for what seemed like minutes before the sun came up.

"Derek, do you think someone will try to take my place as Alpha?" When he didn't answer right away I thought he might have fallen asleep.

"Will you fight for your place as Alpha if they try taking it away from you?" He asked. I laughed nervously.

"I just hope it doesn't come to that."

"Me too." I looked at the sun.

"We should probably go inside." I said.

"In a bit." Derek mumbled. I felt safe laying there in his arms, safer than I ever have in along time. After a half hour we went inside.

"We should probably talk about the whole betrothal thing." I said softly.

"Ya we will soon." That was all he said before he went upstairs. My stomach growled.

"Okay, okay I'll feed you. I whispered just in case Derek was listening. I wondered around awhile before I found the kitchen. I walked in and seen my grandma sitting at the table.

"Do you send Derek out to find me last night?" I asked.

"Good morning to you too. No he did that by himself. He went upstairs then came back down with some of your clothes and went outside. It was all on his own accord, Clara." I nodded. I gathered some cereal to eat after my grandma left. I was about to put it away when I heard Derek.

"Keep that out. Please." He added please in at the last moment. I put it on the table. He grabbed the milk out of the fridge and poured some into my bowl. I thanked him. He nodded then poured himself some cereal. I started eating when my grandfather walked in.

"Nice to see you to love birds together." I choked on the cereal in my mouth and Derek froze before he put a spoonful of cereal in his. My grandfather laughed. "Sorry about that." I nodded still not able to speak. "Anyway did you guys go for a run last night?" Derek nodded before I got the chance to speak."Good, good. It can help you get to know a person you know." I felt my face start to heat up. I took my bowl and walked onto the deck.

It was a beautiful morning. The sun was peeping out from behind the trees, and reflecting off the morning dew.Derek came out not to long after I did. We ate in total silence neither one of us said a word till we finished eating.

"About last night I'm-" Derek cut me off.

"No I'm sorry. I should have told you." We sat there for a few more minutes.
