Callisto's POV

I sat up in my bedroom waiting, listening to the pattern of the raindrops tapping on the roof above. I watched outside and flinched every once in a while when a raindrop hit the window. I sighed and turned to the paper that laid on my desk. It was a boring Sunday afternoon and my parents were once again fighting. Throwing things, saying things, trying to include me in it and saying ,'It's that stupid son of ours.'  I just ignored them. Everything is my fault in this house. Turning to the window again I saw a large dog barking and sprinting down the street without a collar. Not to long after that there were all sorts of loud noises happening at once downstairs. It was probably something being thrown.

I stood up and grabbed my jacket.

I walked downstairs and looked around. There was a vase broken downstairs and a cupboard open. I walked to the kitchen. "Mother..?" I looked at the sobbing female on the ground. She looked at me and pulled me down with her holding me. I was totally caught off by the actions. I thought she hated me? I hugged her tight. Father must've done something. I looked at her.  "What did he do to you?" I whispered hearing the sound of his boots stomping somewhere near in the house. "He hit you?" I asked hoping for an answer. She nodded. I stood up. "We're going to grandma's" She shook her head. She whispered sniffling. "We can't, she'll never shut up about how she was right and your father was a bad choice." I shook my head. "It doesn't matter. We aren't safe here." I turned around and crawled to get up, but I was stopped by my father stepped on my fingers. I pulled them back and looked up at him.

He grinned."Where do you two think you're going."

I stood up and glared. "Somewhere away from you" I said coldly. "You disrespect and hurt me and my mom, I have had enough of it." I helped my mom up. He pulled me away from her.

I jerked away and grabbed my mother and pulled her out the door running. We both hopped into the car and floored it leaving him in the dust. I looked at her. "How bad did he hurt you?" She kept her eyes on the road. "He broke the vase in an attempt to cut me and then started going for the cupboards. He shoved me...then he left." I nodded. "I'm sorry.." She shook her head. "Don't be."

She slid a letter over to me.
