Altair's POV

I sat up. It was early in the morning, the sun wasn't even up yet. I started the fire again and pulled the daggers out of the tree. I grabbed three long sticks and carved the edges until they were fully sharp. It was actually quite warm, but I could see that both of the boys were shivering. I sighed and kept sharpening the sticks. Spears. I grabbed long vines from the ground and tied them to the end so we had something to strap them to our backs with.

The sun was beginning to rise. I chucked the spear at a bird knocking it from a branch, the other at two rabbits. I retrieved them and grabbed the string to cook all three. I leaned up against the log and looked up at the sky. I smiled.

"Two more days." I sighed and looked at Nick who was just waking up.

I looked at him. "Morning." I whispered. He yawned and nodded. "Good morning."

"Do you want to learn how to hunt?" He rubbed the sleep out of his eyes and shrugged. "Sure."

I stood up and offered a hand to him to help him up. He took it and I pulled him up. I lead him to the stream where all the deer were. I whispered.

"You want to aim it at their lower half of the body, so they can't move fast."

He tossed the spear and it hit in the middle of the stream.

I snorted. "Try again, love" He looked at me. "Sorry, it's a habit, my girlfriend back at home-"

I tripped over my words and looked at him. He laughed softly. "It's fine-"

"She's not really my girlfriend anymore. She didn't want me to come here and be like my father, I chose school over her. She was very controlling anyways-"

He tossed the spear again. He failed. Again.

"Here." I came up behind him and fixed his arms. "Throw it with more force."

He threw it again, this time it hit the deer.

In the back.

I stepped out from behind him and nodded. "Good."

Jericho squeaked.

"That was the best gay moment ever-"

I looked at him embarrassed.

Nick on the other hand snorted.

The rest of the day I taught Nick how to hunt, Jericho just spectated and pointed out that we're killing all the animals.

So i threatened to kill him so he wouldn't worry about it.

Nickolas scolded us.
