OVERRAN

Karen and Carl ran outside after hearing an explosion. They met up with Maggie and Beth who had their guns raised and aimed at a tank outside the fences. Karen slowly backed away; realizing who it was and fear quickly crept onto her heart.

"Carl?" Carl went up to Karen and gently touched her shoulders which was shaking violently.

"Karen, look at me. Look at me." Karen met his crystal blue eyes which were now seeing straight into her soul. Before Karen could ramble on about how scared she was, Carl swooped in and caught her in a  kiss. All the fear, the fear of losing her people, her love, herself, was all taken away at that moment.

Carl pulled away and wiped away her tears.

"I know how scared you are, but we will survive. We will. Okay?" Karen nodded slowly before Carl smiled at her.

"Tell Natalie to meet us out here and watch after Judith in case it all goes south." Carl ordered as Karen nodded and gave him a quick peck on the cheek before running off to the cell block.

"Karen, what was that?" Karen rushed in with her sliencer in her hand.

"Carl, Maggie, and the others need you out there. I'll look after Judith." Karen suggested as Natalie nodded and grabbed her AK and machete before taking off out if the prison.

Judith began to cry as explosions went off again. Karen rocked Judith back and forth as she tried her best to calm her down, which was working.

"It's okay, Judith. Daddy will be okay. He'll come find us. I got you." Karen assured before she looked outside the window. She saw smoke rising in the air and the north watchtower burning to ash.

Karen sighed before she looked back at Judith.

'Please be okay, Carl. I need you here.' She thought before Tyreese ran into the cell block, sweat running down his face.

"We have to go."

"Why? What's going on?" Karen asked as she sat Judith in the carrier and placed her sliencer in it's holster and grabbed a crossbow she found before picking up the carrier.

"The prison...it's gone."

Judith began to wail as Karen shot at another walker stumbling towards them. Karen had to get to Carl and Rick. But she couldn't find them.

She lost Tyreese and the Woodbury kids, Lizzie and Mika, when walkers began to overrun the prison. Now she was on her own. With Judith.

For some reason, Judith stopped wailing. Karen looked down to see that Judith fell asleep.

"How could she fall asleep with so much going on?" Karen asked herself before she approached the woods. She looked back to see the prison burning to the ground. She tried her best to not cry, but it was hard to.

Not since the prison was taken down, by her own father.

~

Carl ran up to his dad, helping him to his feet. He looked around; hoping to see his girlfriend or his sisters in sight. But none of them were in sight at all.

"Carl? Where's Judith?"

"I don't know. She was Karen. Maybe she's with her. Where's Nat?" Carl asked before they both heard snarling. They both looked up to see the horror before them.

Stumbling towards them was Natalie Grimes, a huge bite print around her arm and neck. She snarled her teeth at them; Carl dropped to his knees, sobbing loudly as he aimed his sliencer at Natalie's head and pulled the trigger.

"Carl..." Rick cried out as he placed a hand on his son's shoulder. Carl sobbed to the top of his lungs; the pain settling in and sure enough wasn't going away.

"Carl, we have to go." Rick said; tears just streaming out of his eyes as he helped his son up.

"They're all dead, Dad. Everyone's dead." Carl stated as he wrapped his father's arm around his shoudlers and helped his father walk.

"We don't know that, Carl." Rick stated before they both exited out of the fences. They took one last look at the burning prison before they walked into the woods; disappearing as more walkers were attracted to the scene.

Everyone was now scattered. Not knowing if one's is still alive or if one's dead.
