In a world of devastation, you need to hold onto all the hope you can. When you're the only living thing on the planet, this becomes increasingly difficult. Even more so if your soulmate mark is broken... At least, it appears broken to the owner. Trunks runs his thumb over the timer, which is currently counting up. Several seconds later, it starts counting to zero.

Nothing seems right anymore. The androids ran rampant through the cities. No one, aside from Trunks that is, survived the chaos. And since then, the looming threat of insanity has weighed on his shoulders. Survivor's guilt, if you will. The half-Saiyan groans and runs a hand down his face as he breathes out a sigh. Is his timer broken due to his soulmate's death? No... He's heard stories about that. If your soulmate is dead, the timer stops completely.

Could it be that his soulmate isn't... In this time? The thought makes Trunks frown; there's plenty of different times he could return to, so how would he pick which one to start with? It's not like he can go through every minute of every year, right? Well... No, he can. It's not like there's anything else he can do at this point...

With this in mind, the Saiyan male brings out his old time machine and smiles sadly at the writing on the side. Hope. It's something that he needs, that's for sure. Trunks opens it before climbing inside, looking to the destination clock on the dashboard. Strange... He's positive he's never considered going to the time displayed... Soulmates are decided through fate, and maybe that's why it's there.

"I have nothing else to lose," Trunks says, looking to his wrist. There has never been a name before, but now there is faded text... Maybe this is the right direction.

---

You're sitting with Goten, Turles, and Gohan. The three are arguing about something you could care less about, which leaves you to ponder different things to yourself. One of the many timers (That are still counting) has a name that is slowly appearing on your wrist. Every so often you'll try to make out the name, only to be disappointed when it fades away.

"(Y\N), can't we just send him back to hell?" Goten asks, placing his head on your shoulder. "He's not a good guy, it'll be like sweeping dust under the carpet!" You sigh quietly and run your fingers through his hair.

"No, we can't-"

"Don't be foolish," Turles scoffs, pulling you closer to himself. "If anything, she'd prefer to come to space with me! We'll rule this miserable galaxy, and we'll spread the Tree of Might's-"

"As if," Gohan scoffs, fixing his glasses. "(Y\N) is no villain; she'd never agree to destroying helpless planets," he says, turning his attention to you. "Right?" You nod, which makes the twins grin, and Turles scowl.

"She just doesn't know the glories of-"

"I'm gonna go out," you sigh, standing from the couch. So far the 'sharing' plan isn't working. At all. As in, it is failing miserably. You step out of the living room and head outside, narrowing your eyes at the light. Now alone, you silently pray for everything to work out.

---

Trunks steps out of his time machine and looks to his wrist. His heart nearly stops when he spots the name written in bold letters. (Y\N). This makes a large smile grow on the male's face; he finally has a name to go with the bond! Trunks soon packs up his machine and takes to the air; fate is guiding him the correct way, after all. Knowing this, he soon flies in the direction of a major city. Instinct is clearly guiding him better than anything else.

---

One minute you're walking on a bridge, the next you're falling because someone is in too much of a rush. Your eyes squeeze shut as you plummet closer and closer to the ground below. When you prayed for things to work out, you didn't mean death! You're running through your final thoughts as death approaches, only to be interrupted (Not that you mind) by a strong pair of arms catching you. A large gasp leaves your mouth and you cling to your savior. Just how many people are capable of flying in this city?!

"Are you alright, miss?" the male asks, slowly floating to the ground. You nod slowly and cling to him as your feet touch the ground. "May I ask why you jumped?"

"I-I didn't... Someone accidentally pushed me," you explain. You tuck hair behind your ear and you look at the stranger. The first things that earn your attention are his blue eyes and lilac hair. "Thank you for saving me..." you sigh, bringing a hand to your chest. "The name's (Y\N)."

"Wait, (Y\N)?" he asks, eyes wide. You nod, and slowly you're filled with concern. "M-My name is Trunks. I'm looking for my soulmate, their name is also (Y\N)." You look to your wrist, and sure enough there is his name... When did that appear?

"Y-You're the one from the strange timer," you say, furrowing your brows. "I-It never counted correctly. It would-"

"Count down ad up?" Trunks asks, running a hand through his hair. "Glad it was both of us..." His eyes fall upon the many marks on your arm, and confusion appears on his face. When you notice what he's focused on, you sigh and tilt your head.

"Alright... Come on," you say, nodding your head. "We have a lot of explaining to do."

---

One of the things that feels strange is the fact that Trunks shares a soulmate with the past version of his mentor (And his mentor's twin brother). Not only that, but there's still many other soulmates left to be discovered.

"So now there's four of us," Turles huffs, crossing his arms. "As if the three of us weren't having enough problems." Gohan and Goten glare at the older man before crossing their arms.

"We've fought alongside him in the past. He's a good guy!" Gohan defends, and Goten sticks his tongue out.

"You're just upset because that's another person who'll side with us," he says. Trunks looks between the three before looking at you. You're covering your face, waiting for the argument to end.

"Listen," Trunks says, earning the table's attention. "This is confusing, sure, but we can't fight it. We should find a way to get along."

"Nice try," Turles huffs, "But that's impossible." After a moment of silence, he speaks up yet again. "We could always cut her into pieces and share her that-"

"No," everyone, yourself included, says. Turles crosses his arms and looks to the side.

"We could try and organize a schedule," Gohan suggests, which makes you frown. That makes you sound like an object being passed around weekly. That doesn't sound too fun. Trunks notices your discomfort before speaking up.

"Maybe we can work our differences out? I mean, things seem troublesome if we're fighting all the time." This makes you perk up, which brings a smile to his lips. "I think it would be easier if we learn to accept our differences... Plus, I think (Y\N) would be happier." You're nodding along with him, which makes the men sigh.

"We're okay with that," Goten says.

"I suppose I have to comply," Turles grumbles.

"Alright... Then things can work out." You're beaming now; your prayers have been answered through Trunks.
