Jimin-
"Baby, please get your shoes on," I ask.
"No!" He yells. He hits his feet on the floor. He's been up since one this morning. He told me that he needed to be up, so I didn't get any sleep. He's been crying for an hour. He didn't want to get ready.
I'm one minute away from breaking into tears. "Jihoon, please. I have to go to work. You have to understand," I beg.
"Don wanna!"
I sit back and close my eyes. I don't like crying in front of him. I don't want him to think I'm weak. I take a deep breath and open my eyes. "Park Ji Hoon. You will put your shoes on, or else I'll have to ground you," I say with a steady voice.
Worry flashes in his eyes before going back to him screaming. I sigh. "Okay, you made your own decision." I pick him up and set him on the bed. I start collecting all his dolls and stuffed animals. "You will get them back once you prove you can be a good boy."
He watched me as I take them out of the room. I set them in the toy box in the living room. I could never actually punish him for being bad. I don't want him to hate me. I just make it seem like I took them away. Once he has his shoes on, he can have them back.
I go back into the bedroom. He's on the floor next to his shoes. "I'm weady Daddy," he whispers. He has small tears running down his eyes. I nod and help with get his shoes on. "Your toys are in the toy box outside. I'm going to get ready for work now," I say. He nods and walks out to the living room. I take a quick shower and brush my teeth. I get dressed in my usual work outfit. Working as a lawyers assistant isn't the most interesting, or best paying. But I couldn't figure out what to do with my life after high school, I threw away all my degrees that I had for dance.
I come back into the living room while brushing my hair. Jihoon is coloring in a coloring book. "Taetae and Jungkook are going to take you out today. They don't work Wednesday so I think it'll become a weekly thing," I say.
He nods. "Daddy, I made art." He holds up the tiger he just colored blue. "You like it?"
I nod. "I think blue is a very good color for a tiger."
Jihoon smiles a cute gummy smile. "At school, Ms. Lees said tigers don't have blue. She say that they orange. No I can't draw fun pictures there."
I frown. "She told you not to be imaginative?" He nods. Well, I guess I'll have to talk to her about her child care skills. "Well, I want you to keep drawing me blue tigers."
He nods. "Is blue your favorite color?"
I shake my head. "I love pink."
"But Ms. Lees say pink is a girl color," Jihoon mumbles.
"It's not. Never think something is only for girls, or for boys. You can like pink if you want. You play with your dollies, and your action figures," I say.
He nods. "I made two of them get married. Like aunt Jennie and Jisoo. I miss them."
I smile and nod. "We can ask to visit sometime."
The front door opens. "Tae!" Jihoon stands up and runs over to the boys. Jungkook raises his arms in annoyance. "What about me?" Jihoon giggles and hugs his leg.
Jungkook picks him up and kisses his nose. "Sorry we're late. We got caught up in something," he says. Taehyung blushes and looks at the ground. I mouth gross at them. "Let's go bug," Jungkook says. The three leave. I grab my work bag and hop in a cab.
