Before I went into my english class, I saw Denis at his locker. "I usually don't see you at your locker on Gold or Brown days (the school has ABAB days).....what's the special occasion?" I jokingly asked. "Oh hey...nothing, I just forgot my science book. What are you doing?" "I'm suppose to be going to my english class. I just came back from lunch. Say, you wanna hang out this weekend?" "Can't, I'm very busy and I work." I was a fool for asking that question. "Oh..okay then, well, I guess I'll be on my way..." "Yeah me too,." He closed his locker and left. "Bell's gonna ring. Hurry up." The teacher yelled at all the lingering students. I walked in and sat down. "I'm just ready for the day to be over with." I whispered to myself.

2:10pm hit and I was out the door. It was Friday and I had no plans. I never had any plans. I'm not sure why I asked Denis if he was free because he gave the same response every time. Last year, he landed a job at Burger King and he is loyal to that job. It was early in the sophomore year and he was so happy he had it. "You're lucky that you have a job." I wrote to him on Facebook. "Yeah I know, I can save up and stuff. Maybe buy a car." "You can drive?!" "Just a little." "Denis, I never knew you could drive? You should teach me sometimes." "Yeah, I would love to." "Haha..hey let's hang out together." "Sorry man, I'm busy." "Oh come on, I thought we were friends?" "We are friends. Gtg." After that, he logged off. Maybe he was busy but come on, EVERY day of the week? Every time I asked him, I hoped that the answer would be different but it wasn't.
